This is interesting. I had heard about "Penguin Awareness Day" (January 20) before, but this new ペンギン holiday I've just learned of in 最近 days.
It would seem, however, that the former is the もっと見る major of these two ペンギン "holidays." A quoted-term 検索 for "Penguin Awareness Day" on Google turns up 51,700 results, while one for "International ペンギン Day" results in a mere 347.
Regardless, it's great to have now TWO days on which to celebrate penguins, whether they be of the "Madagascar" verity または other.
