I sit each day upon the meadow green Watching for him, hidden hoping not to be seen Touching the Earth, my energies I bury Knowing when he comes, he’ll be cautious and weary Appearing like a phantom, from the rising mist Motionless I watch, as he decides to take the risk He scents the air about him, and sends a mighty call Summoning the others, Wild Ponies all From my secret perch, I watch the mystery unfold Of how he greets and gentles them, to keep them in his hold Standing muzzle to muzzle breathing anail breathe Soon each surrenders, to his whispered caress Wondering, I ponder should I dare aspire To approach him in such a way, just evoke his ire Would he see this effort as a dangerous attempt And from that point, hold me forever in contempt This King has been a master, of his freedom kept For in his evasive trek, there’s none more adept He’ll pay the price of sovereignty, with his very flesh As he views the reins and stable as enduring death Yet in spite of this, I extend him a hand Hoping that he’ll realize his need I understand So in a whispered voice coax him not to flee For I only seek to touch something beautiful and free And for but a moment, he yields to one embrace To stroke his coat of velvet, while standing face to face Then he’s on his way again, but our kinship was sanguine Knowing a friend now stands, upon his meadow green Messing with the fan4 yesterday, Cammie goaded me into posting something with "substance"? Maybe this will placate her long enough so I can start writing (Badly needed, behind, and my job and passion) sermons. Oh, and of course razzing peeps on FanPop with my,, quaint? Um,, NO, that’s not right who am I kidding, more like my..Mordant, sardonic and cynically dry, acerbic humor. (Yeah,, that’s the ticket!.<GRINS/> I never made titles for what may be considered a "poem" or any type of poetry. I never had a raison d'être <---cool word to make me look smart) reason to do so..Anything I wrote "doodled" that wasn’t educationally oriented, would get stuffed into a lower drawer, and then monthly three hole punched, until I discovered binder sheets.SOOoo anyway, here is something I found hopefully not too "wacked" from my fruity mind... |
