Well, you'd have to come up with a good reason for Kim's pursuers to not act in the open, or attack Kim in such a way that she still feels safe enough to go to school.

Let me explain: if a person's life is threatened, that person's not going to go about their normal day-to-day routine; instead, she'd go to the police and/or flee. So it would have to not be obvious to Kim that her life was in danger, at least at first. And that, as I said at first, would require that the parents have a good reason to not just kidnap her or attack her openly (which would tip the hat that she was in danger). There has to be a very good reason that they go the indirect route of manipulating Taylor to get to Kim, rather than doing something that would get them what they want faster.

It's an interesting premise. Are you thinking it will be a short story, a serial, a novella, a novel, or series of novels?

As for a title, it's a bit difficult without knowing a name for the powers, what the powers are or where they originate. Still, some ideas:
* The Specialist
* Unpleasant Surprises
* She's Unbelievable
* A Wonderful Year
* Mistress of the Heart and Light (making a guess at her powers here)
