No, it's not in his nature. While he is undeniably COOL, he's a good guy. He hates the 暁(NARUTO) (or I assume he does, anyway) for what they did to Gaara.
Unless you're asking if it would be cool for him to be an 暁(NARUTO) member... well, I don't think so. One reason the 暁(NARUTO) is so interesting is the variety of it's members. They've already got a puppet guy, why have two?
The original Akatsuki, though... before Yahiko died... yeah, he'd have been a good addition to that. :)
