1 week later, my parents, Jake and I went over to Charlie’s. He insisted I call him that, rather than Grandpa, because we were close enough in age for him to be my father.
    When we rang the doorbell Sue answered. They had been married for about a year. Seth was there too.
    “Jake!” He called as he ran over to us. He smiled at me and I gave him a hug. “Wow, Ness, あなた look great!” Seth 発言しました enthusiastically. Jacob frowned at him and grabbed my hand.
    “Don’t worry Jake I didn’t mean it like that,” He said.
    “Bella, Edward, Renesmee,” Sue nodded, “Nice to see あなた again.”
    “Hi Sue,” Mom said, “Where’s Charlie?”
    “Out back. He’ll be so excited to see all of you,” She responded, looking at me warily before walking away. I was about as nervous as she was, we all knew that Charlie hated to see me growing, and now I looked as old as my Dad, but Charlie didn’t know that I would never look older. He would find out eventually though, and that would scare him. I squeezed Jacob’s hand as we walked over to the couch. The first thing Charlie did when he came in was give Mom a huge hug. Then he looked at me.
“Wow, Nessie, you’re . . . older, again.”
“Yup,” I responded, “Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve seen you. I’ve been pretty busy.”
    “Bells, can I talk to あなた alone for a minute?” Charlie asked.
    
    “Gosh Bella, how long until she is older than you. Don’t lie to me!” He yelled quietly.
    “Honestly dad, that’s the least of your worries about Renesmee, she’s not really gonna get any older.” Bella 発言しました hesitantly.
    “At all?” Charlie asked in slight disbelief. Bella shook her head no. “If that’s the least of my worries about her . . . what’s the big one?” Charlie asked cautiously, looking out of the hallway and over to where I sat. Curled up to Jacob with his arm around me, holding me tightly while we talked casually with Seth. Then it dawned on him.
    “No . . .” He 発言しました furiously as he stormed into the living room. “Jacob Black,” he spat. Jacob looked toward him hesitantly, knowing what was coming.
    “Yes, Sir” He 発言しました formally.
    “What. The. Hell. Do あなた think you’re doing,” he was fuming.
    Um, sitting?”
    “Don’t be smart with me boy! Get your hands off of her if あなた want to keep them!” It was funny that after threats from vampires, Jacob looked so scared of Charlie. He did what he was told and removed his hands from me instantly. He stood up and started backing away hands up, cautiously in front of him. I looked at my father to see he was smiling smugly. I couldn’t stand having Jacob three feet in front of me without me being with him.
    “I 愛 him Charlie,” I 発言しました standing up and closing the distance between me and Jacob, “More than my own life.”
    “Trust me Charlie, I hate it the most, there’s nothing あなた can do about it,” Dad 発言しました frowning at Jake.
    “He’s too dangerous for her!” Charlie snapped at my father.
    “Actually, and although I hate to say it, she’s never safer than when she’s with him,” Dad frowned even もっと見る at Jacob.
    “He’s too old for her!” Charlie fought back.
    “Charlie,” I 発言しました defending myself, “I am sixteen years old.”
    “NO. You’re not.”
“Come on Charlie,” Seth said, “let’s sit on the ソファー, ソファ and have a nice little werewolf talk.” We told him about imprinting, how it bonded people together, like Sam and Emily, like Jacob and I. We told him that there was nothing that anyone could do to stop it. We told him it was very powerful, but not unpleasant. We didn’t however tell him that Jacob and I have had sex, and we didn’t tell him about our house, that would just be too much.
When we were done explaining, all Charlie could think to say was, “Of course it would have to be my granddaughter,” Then a new thought occurred to him. “What, what about when she was a baby?”
“Um . . . then too,” Jacob 発言しました quietly, scratching his head, “But it was different of course! もっと見る like the way you’re supposed to 愛 a baby. And when she was a kid and stuff, trust me it wasn’t like I was a creep, just a friend. But あなた would know that Charlie, you’ve known her as long as me.”
“And when did this happen, Renesmee?”
“About 3 and a half months 前 . . .” I responded, looking at my shoes, Jacob pulled me closer to him and rubbed my arm, which made me feel a whole lot better.
“I don’t know what it is with Jacob and my girls,” Charlie 発言しました quietly to himself, not knowing that about half the room could hear him perfectly.
When we got into the car, Jacob kissed me softly on the lips, “Well, that was fun,” he 発言しました sarcastically.
“It was fun to watch Jacob squirm,” My dad 発言しました from the drivers seat, chuckling.
“It appears Jacob is もっと見る afraid of my dad then he is of vampires,” My mother noted curiously.
“Why did we go over there again,” Jacob 発言しました thawing out and becoming もっと見る himself again, he smiled and laughed.
“I don’t know, but I’m rather disappointed Charlie didn’t shoot あなた like he was thinking about doing, it would have been a nice little scar for you,” My dad 発言しました joining in on the laughter.
“It certainly wouldn’t have been nice dad! It would have been awful!” I 発言しました frowning.
“Awfully funny,” he murmured. Then all three of them laughed, I just frowned deeper.
