For me, personally, this song became DE's trademark. Someone once 発言しました 'If Stefan is Elena's harbor, then Damon is her ocean. Ships are 安全, 安全です in a harbor, but that's not why they were built' The way I interpret the song, is it's about jumping into the unknown and that can be scary. The ocean can be dangerous, can't be tamed, it's not safe. So I'm eagerly waiting for Elena to leave her 安全, 安全です harbor and jump into the ocean.
