Fog and crows

What happened to the fog and crows?
In the beginning of the series there were fog and crows, whenever a vampire was close. What happened?

I miss the fog and crow! :( It was just Damon who controlled them so everytime they appeared, he was nearby. IIRC, JP 発言しました that it was too dark and didnt work for the 表示する または something. Damn though. I really wish they stuck with the 本 on that and kept it in.
