 Masquerade!
Masquerade!
Hi everyone, it's been coming to 9 years since I watched the musical in Singapore. I have always want to write this review of the stage version since I had did a comparison on both the movie and stage version!

The Staging

I was stunned によって the staging because it was such a spectacular, colourful and whimsical, I also like how each scenes represent dark & light throughout the musical. It was like bringing the realism of what it's like of Palais de Garnier, on which the story is set.
One of my major disappointments was that I did not sit in front where the dramatic chandelier came crashing down during the end of the First Act, but I heard in the Australian production, it is even scarier compare to other productions depending on where あなた are staying.

The Songs

The songs are very memorable, but my favourites are 音楽 of the Night and Masquerade. The former was a romantic song that is overrated whereas the latter is very colourful and fun to watch!
I cried my ハート, 心 out at the ending when Christine ends with Raoul and the Phantom moans over it when he sang the lines 'It's over the 音楽 of the Night', poor Phantom that he has no happy ending.

The Characters

The characters themselves are very fun to watch, especially Carlotta and Piangi, I was very sad that the latter died after discovering that Don Juan is actually Phantom and I also feel bad for Carlotta as well despite her jealous tendencies.
As mentioned, I feel bad for the タイトル character because he needs 愛 and I wonder why he chase both Raoul and Christine out during the Final Lair scene.

The Costumes

Like the staging, the costumes also represent light & darkness throughout the musical. One thing exceptional is the Red Masque costume during the 仮面舞踏会 scene in which the Phantom wore, this is distinguish himself from the rest.
During the majority of the story, he wears a tuxedo and in Stranger Than あなた Dream It. He wears a Chinese ジャケット and hat, which is one of my favourite costume out of the musical.

Masquerade!

So far, this is all I can remember. I even have the full recording of it onto my iPod.

I recently saw the 25th anniversary on PBS, and while I enjoyed it I did have some problems with some of the performances. I felt like the actress playing Christine was trying too hard to play up the ingenue aspect of the character. One example of this is when she first starts 歌う in Don Juan Triumphant. She's prancing around the stage like she truly has "no thoughts within her head." I much prefer the solemn take of the song that they used in the movie. However, I do think that the actress in the play got better when they moved onto "point of no return".
I mostly liked the lady playing...

Righty-oh totally bored at this moment and no points for guessing what and who’s in my head, the same thing which is always there, the same thing thats been there since I discovered it, Phantom. Basically I started with the 表示する then continued to the book and the film but I'm starting with thoughts on the book as it is the most important. It is the real POTO. I had planned to save 読書 it until my holiday yet when it came in the post I sat on the floor where I opened it and just read it all. I meant to just start it but once I had read the first pre chapter and learnt that the story was...

Which E/C ship could've actually come true?

I think it’s Gerik and Emmy’s Christine from the 2004 film. The pair’s mental states and 愛 for each others seemed essentially もっと見る stable and genuine, than in other versions.

Gerik was clearly far less insane than any of the stage Phantoms I’ve seen, not to mention Leroux’s original Erik. He never even physically abused Christine. (Yes, he quite violently dragged her down to the lair in the end, but it didn’t seem to actually hurt her, and when he calmed down he was very gentle for...

I originally 投稿されました this on IMDB's board as VampireOutlaw.

No one wanted a sequel, <-- (generally speaking), it was still made, the critiques hate it, the ファン hate it, it keeps on having to close down...Yet it's still here?
I know it has its share of fans, but nonetheless the crucially and strongly negative reception seems to be the situation in general.

So why the bloody hell does ALW not give up? または if he can't bring himself to, why does he keep on trying with only minor changes?

~ First a sidenote:
Love Never Dies is not a sequel to the 2004 movie because that movie is Joel Schumacher's interpretation...

THE CURSE OF THE OPERA

Three days ago, on the 23rd of June 2013, a crisis to go down in the history of musical theatre occurred. The female lead, Christine Daee, in London's best loved musical, the Phantom of The Opera, was found dead in her hotel room after the magnificent first show's finale. Phillipa Jones, who played the role, had previously been telling the rest of the cast outlandish rumours of a face appearing behind her mirror - as the Phantom did to Christine's in the play.

Distraught, yet convinced the 表示する must go on, the director (who will remain unnamed) forced her understudy to...

Curiosity Kills

This was written for the Featuring Luciana challenge. The challenge: Write a oneshot story describing Luciana's thoughs on Erik, shortly before her death.

“I want あなた to take off the mask. Please take off the mask.”

I am standing in front of Erik, begging him to remove the mask that hides his face from me. I want to know his face, to see him.

“You must excuse me, mademoiselle. I have work to finish.”

The nerve of him! “I will not excuse you! あなた don’t have work to finish! I want あなた to take off...

I have seen T.P.O.T.O many times, and most of them have been the 25th anniversary performance. This performance is by-far my favorite. Ramin Kariloo is the BEST Phantom I have ever seen. Sierra Boggess is also the best Christine. Hadley Fraser is one of the best Raoul's I have seen. Even Meg and Madame Giry were fantastic. Carlotta was probably my least お気に入り actress. I enjoyed this performance so much better because the actors seemed like they were literally their characters. I hope あなた enjoyed this and あなた can watch the entire performance on youtube. Thanks!
