Bryce Papenbrook, Cherami Leigh Lead Sword Art Online Dub Cast!

Aniplex of America announced at Sakura-Con on Saturday that Bryce Papenbrook (Blue Exorcist's Rin Okumura, Durarara!!'s Masaomi Kida) will voice the role of Kirito and Cherami Leigh (Fairy Tail's Lucy Heartfilia, Shakugan no Shana's Shana) will voice the role of Asuna in the English dub of Aniplex's release of the Sword Art Online テレビアニメ series. Aniplex is premiering the dub at Sakura-Con on Saturday.

Sakura-Con also hosted Sword Art Online light novel series creator Reki Kawahara and the anime's theme song performers Eir Aoi (Fate/Zero, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE) and Luna Haruna (Fate/Zero) at the event.

Sword Art Online adapts Kawahara's (Accel World) light novel series of the same name. The story revolves around a boy named Kazuto "Kirito" Kirigaya who enters a virtual-reality, massively multi-player online (MMO) world called "Sword Art Online." There is no escape from this world unless the player clears the game, but "game over" means the death of the player. Crunchyroll streamed the 25-episode series outside of 日本 as it aired.

And here it is, the moment we’ve all known was coming ever since Leefa and Kirito’s very first meeting. I’m not really a big ファン of 愛 drama in anime, at least not this kind. It always tends to go exactly the same way – someone gets their ハート, 心 broken, there’s lots of screaming and shouting and then everybody goes their own way with a noticeably uncomfortable air. Knowing that it’s coming for several episodes makes it worse because it doesn’t even come as a surprise, and when it’s placed right in the middle of the climatic part of the story, that climax suffers too.
