This is because I live in the middle of nowhere, and I wouldn't know how to differentiate one part of a city from another if I tried, so everything is just "city".

I live in the city and still call the more city-like part of my city "The City". That, or "the CBD".

Tbh I didn't even know "downtown" referred to the CBD until last month. It was a bit of a revelation when I found out. Hence the motivation for this poll.

I usually say "city centre" but I always use "CBD" when I'm in geography class. (I didn't know that "Downtown" meant city centre either)

Well, sometimes I just say; "The Nobody-Gives-a-crap"

In my area we just say "We're going down the shops" like the classy people we are... xD
