 Happy Birthday Fanpop!
Happy Birthday Fanpop!
Five years 前 today, I was sitting in my living room with link, link, and link when together we pressed a button on a keyboard and released ファンポップ to the world. We had no idea what was in store for us または for the site, but we had a dream to build something really cool and we hoped others would like it. For months and months we toiled away at our computers designing and coding what あなた all see today. We talked endlessly about features and ideas. Papa and I mocked them up and Cliff and Michael programmed them into reality. あなた grow pretty tight when あなた spend that many days and nights together. We went from being Fansters to Fanspots and finally launched as ファンポップ on August 1, 2006. We had a small number of test users that had been using our closed beta site but now we were opening the doors to the public and it was scary. What if no one came? What if people hated the site? What if we had to give up and go get 机, デスク jobs at some office cube farm again? So many "what ifs" overwhelmed us that day.

After our initial launch and some press from sites like link and link the first few months things were pretty quiet and we were honestly pretty scared that it wasn't going to work out. We knew that we had a good product, but we didn't know how to get users to come. Slowly but surely though, the ファン found their way here. Twilight ファン came. Harry Potter ファン came. Justin Bieber ファン came. One 木, ツリー 丘, ヒル ファン came. glee/グリー ファン came. Michael Jackson ファン came. もっと見る and もっと見る ファン found their way to ファンポップ and before we knew it we had thousands of クラブ and millions of ファン coming to the site. The best part about it was that ファン around the world were connecting with fellow ファン who shared their passions and were making new friends. ファンポップ was actually growing into a bona fide community and the ultimate site for fans.

Fast フォワード, 前進, 楽しみにして to August 1, 2011 and today we are the #372 biggest site on the internet according to link. According to our internal metrics we have over 13 million users a 月 around the world visiting Fanpop. But もっと見る importantly, when I interact with users または read コメント on our wall, I hear all the time how much people 愛 the website and how they really feel at ホーム here. It means もっと見る to the ファンポップ four that we created a place on the web that didn't exist before which people can't live without now. That's pretty special and so are each and every one of our fantastic Fanpoppers. We feel like proud fathers who have watched our little website grow into this amazing network of ファン クラブ which are alive with excited ファン who 愛 to talk about all sorts of topics that we could have never imagined. We know that without all of our awesome and dedicated users, we wouldn't be where we are today. It's the ファン that make ファンポップ and we will never forget our commitment to あなた guys. We've spent the past five years building features and designing the website for you. But we're not done yet folks! So keep on Fanpopping, because there's much もっと見る in store for the years to come!

Hello, it's likely that unless you're a long time user of Fanpop, または one of it's founding four, あなた won't recognise my username.

I was a very prominent user, 2007 - 2009 probably, but as I was 19 when I joined back then, I was without many responsibilities, and had plenty of time to dedicate to Fanpop, and was proud to watch it grow, and change and develop.

I wasn't happy with all the changes, but I stood によって those I was. I had a few arguments in my time, and saw users I'd known for a long time, such as kathiria82 leave, and eventually my quote from link would be used によって ファンポップ to sell link to...

Dear fellow fanpoppers,

fanpop is not pro-choice concerning medals.

Many of あなた will agree with me when I say that there are users among us who are a bit too motivated when it comes to collecting medals.
But few of us know that medals also follow us.

Fact is that these メダル need us, they are longing for us as much as many of us are longing for them. The medal whore can not live without the メダル and メダル can not live without us. Probably they do even need us もっと見る then we need them and the common medal whore thinks she did a great job catching a medal when in reality the medal whore is the...

質問 7..Where can I find the FAQs?
Question 7..Where can I find the FAQs?
Basically this will be a collection of all the picks asking "HOW DO I- insert basic function here ?" (usually with the options IDK and PLZ tell me in commentz) and my short answer to these inquiries. Now that we have the new 回答 feature they are usually 投稿されました as an answer request but still repeated endlessly.
I usually レポート these kind of picks/answers and they get deleted as they are effectively spam. The drawback is: all information users leave in the コメント is lost.

link seems to only be used によって a limited number of ファン and though I use it frequently I hate how all information is...

 Dictionaries are a handy tool.
Dictionaries are a handy tool.
One thing that's becoming もっと見る and もっと見る prominent as time goes on, is that people online don't feel the need to use good grammar and spelling. Now, despite the fact that when on IM または whatevs, it's really fine to use all of these little abbreviations like "jk" "lol" "atm" etc. etc. etc. Before I get any farther into this uncontrolled rant, let me just say that I do use some internet slang. Most of this, however, are words that I make up. So, whatevs, deelie, yuppers, wazhappenin, etc. etc. etc. I'm not one to use mainstream slang other than "lol" because there is NO replacement for LOL. No,...

Ok, now I know that there are other 記事 out there about keeping ファンポップ clean in terms of language and being appropriate but it is obviously not enough seeing as people continue to ignore it.

I am not によって any means trying to be rude または bossy. I am not your mother. My goal in 書く this is hopefully a common one among ファンポップ users, to make ファンポップ a joyful place for all users.

Topic 1: Language
I myself am very guilty of inappropriate language on Fanpop. I have 発言しました some things where if I think twice was not a good idea. I understand that some people say things out of habit and can do it without...

... または someone's way to scream at somebody.

Today's ファンポップ has もっと見る people mean and sarcastic then others. I'm not against it, but I don't have to be.

For those "yelled" at constantly, that means you're doing something WRONG! And it only leads to disaster. What might あなた do wrong?
• Spamming
• Spelling names wrong
• Using incorrect grammar
• Posting miscategorized pictures, picks, questions(answers), etc. to a spot
• Hating on the person's spot
• Impersonating a celebrity
• Making a hate spot

If あなた do any of those things, あなた WILL be yelled at または sarcastically talked to. And don't be...
