^Yeah they did, but they used it only once. Also, Mother Gothel only said the first part of the line.

^Oh yeah he did, and I think Gothel said it twice too. Anyway what I meant is the complete line. But I don't think it would be appropriate in the movie.

But they did use it - Mother Gothel says it when she comes to the tower "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair".

^It has a continuation. "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair."

It didn't bother me at all. The film is called 'Tangled' not Rapunzel and although it is based on the story of Rapunzel, it is clearly not supposed to be exactly the same

heathersvan picked Line? What line? I don't really care.:
Didn't Eugene ask Rapunzel to "let down her hair" at the end of the film? Just before he climbs up and gets stabbed by Mother Gothel. Ps: Did anyone else notice that there was no blood on Mother Gothel's dagger after she stabbed Eugene? Play it safe, Disney. lol

Swanpride picked Not really, it wouldn't fit in the movie anyway.:
It certainly has no continuation in the German original text - there it's only "let down your hair". So you could argue that Disney was true to the source. (most likely some translator thought it clever to add the rhyme, but "hair" (haar) and "stair" (Treppe) don't rhyme in German.

sorry, but i LOVE the original fairytale! That Line is such classic they should have give it a lot emphasize and make it the most momeralbe moment in the movie imo.

@diluka But it's NOT part of the original fairy tale, it's just part of the english translation - I really shudder by the thought what they had thought up for the second part of the line in the other dubbings.

Did you really want them to say the entire thing "So that I may climb the golden stair"? Forget that. I didn't even know about that line until I read it on wikipedia.

At least they said "Rapunzel, let down your hair." Both Mother Gothel and Flynn said it. I was satisfied because in the Barbie movie, it only happened in a dream and that annoyed me.

^Well I watched a children's movie when I was younger where they said the whole line but it was a serious movie. So like I said, it's not really appropriate for Tangled.
