Why not? I'd like to see more positive queen role models anyway.
When you think about it, queens are rarely likable, sympathetic, or even protagonists in fiction. In fact, they're usually the villains. The Evil Queen, the Queen of Hearts, etc. Either that, or they're just generic sweet motherly types that stand beside their husbands, like Aurora's mom, Rapunzel's mom, and Elsa and Anna's mom.
I feel like there's this perception in our society that queens are either evil, or they just stand beside their husband, the king. Any woman who actually has and uses power = evil, crazy, power-hungry, etc. I think advertising Elsa this heavily will help shift the public's mind, and think of queens positively (young, beautiful, desirable, admirable, etc) instead of negatively.
This is ultimately her movie. It may revolve more around Anna's perspective, but it's all about Elsa and her powers. Aurora's the center of her movie, yet not the main character. If it's good for Aurora, it's good for Elsa.
As for her being queen, I don't see a problem with it.
i think the "princess" thing being a sticking point for joining the franchise got thrown out the window when mulan became part of the lineup, so why not?
