Most people would agree that each of the ディズニー Princesses are individually unique. While most people take their stories and personalities into consideration, few tend to recognize that they each have an individual artistic style. Even though over the years their lineup has homogenized to create what we might consider Classic Disney, the デザイン of nearly each princess was in fact inspired with a specific artist または art style in mind. I believe this is the je-ne-sais-quoi people have a hard time attributing to the magic of Disney. No other, if but a few, アニメーション studios are so maticulous in drawing their influences from establish classical art forms when making an animated feature. So without further ado, here in chronological order are the ディズニー Princesses and the artists and art styles from which they were inspired.

________________________________________________________________________________

Princess: Snow White

Art Style: Arthur Rackham / Classic Fairy Tale Illustration

Being the first heroin of ANY full-length animated feature, Snow White could be considered the staunch establishment of 2d アニメーション as an artform itself. However that would be ignoring the fact that Walt ディズニー wanted to give a look to his fairy tale that people were already familiar with.
 Arthur Rackham

Obviously Walt ディズニー chose this fairy tale because so many people were already familiar with it. The film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs begins and ends with the opening and closing of a book alluding to the idea that the whole of the film serves as the illustrations to the story. Therefor ディズニー wanted to emulate the illustations from the 本 in which people had first heard the story. One of the most famous illustrators of classical children's 本 was link who had supplied 画像 to tales of the Grimm Brothers, Hans Christian Anderson, Lewis Carol and even Shakespeare. For many, this style is still quite familiar.

 Gustaf Tenggren

To emulate this style Walt ディズニー hired a number of artists like link, link and link to do much of the conceptual デザイン work. Watercolors were the medium of choice for the background to acheive the look of old illustrations. In this picture によって Tenggren we can see the original look intended for Princess Snow White.

While early methods of cell painting effectively restricted ディズニー artists from giving Snow White the look originally desired, her watercolor-painted sourroundings are still highly reminiscent of the works of Arthur Rackam. Unfortunately, even with further developments in アニメーション techniques, another thirteen years would pass before ディズニー would create Cinderlla. It would be another 9 years with Sleeping Beauty when ディズニー would meet his own satisfying standards in creating the 'moving illustration'.

Princess: Cinderella

Art Style: C.E. Brock / Romanticism / Mary Blair

Probably the most widely known and oldest fairy tale with literally dozens of versions from across the world, ディズニー and his team essentially created what is now the accepted American version of Cinderella. As he did with Snow White, ディズニー wanted to refer to an art style people would recognize from books.

 C.E. Brock
C.E. Brock

With all the princess fairy tales being romantic it as only expected that animators would turn to 本 from the Romantic Era. Primarily occurring during the 1800's, link was a time of artistic and intellectual freedom from the strict creative guidelines of the 前 link. Jane Austen, who wrote Pride and Prejudice is just one of many famous authors from this time period. But it were the illustrations from 本 such as hers によって link which was the focus of ディズニー animators. Here one can see C.E. Brock's line work, borders and water coloring similar to the illustrations in the opening book of Cinderella. Like Arthur Rackham, Brock's illustrations were widespread in 本 being published during this time including those によって Charles Dickons.

Granted, C.E. Brock's style does not continue throughout the rest of the film's background. However, the style of the Romantic era is still present within the movie via architecture, furniture and fashion. The story appears to take place in a fictional world transitioning somewhere between the link and the link (aka 1850s).

 Mary Blair

For the conceptual art ディズニー hired link. Walt was particularly fond of Blair's sense of color styling. Unlike the artists of Snow White who had taken are もっと見る unembellished approach to the style intended, Mary Blair referred to the art of the Romantic era and put her own modern twist on it. This is noticeable during Cinderella's dancing scene with Prince Charming but nowhere is her style もっと見る blatant than the opening credits. (notice her use of ornate curly S shapes)

Princess: Aurora

Art Style: Eyvind Earle / International Gothic

Yet the third and final ディズニー Princess fairy tale opening and ending with a book, Sleeping Beauty would be the last attempt ディズニー made at creating the 'moving illustration'.

 Limbourg Brothers

When people hear "gothic" they usually envision angsty teenagers decked out in black clothes and makeup, with faces littered with piercings. Not the case here.
link in fact refers to a specific art movement that occurred between the 12th and 16th centuries in what is now France, Germany and Italy. A prime example of such art is this illustration, または illumination, によって the link in the early 1400s where we can see not only the fashions but also the architecture of the period. This is just one of many illuminations from the link, considered to be one of the most valuable 本 in the world.

Rather than take a literal approach to the period's design, Walt ディズニー hired artist link to give Sleeping Beauty a modern edge. His particular style explored the lack of proper perspectives and displayed certain hints of Art Deco, a modern arts movement from several decades prior.

The end result is what I personally regard as ディズニー Company's greatest masterpiece in terms of animation. What they created was a brilliant juxtaposition of old meets new with such artistic care I believe has yet to be even closely rivaled in the realm of 2d animation. Sadly, Sleeping Beauty was the last hand painted film ディズニー ever create and details like the golden outlines of Aurora's hair wouldn't be seen again for another 30 years in Beauty and the Beast.

The new lineup! But who'll come top?
Otherwise called "let's just stick Rapunzel in there as an excuse for a new article."
It's snowing heavily outside and I'm super ill and it's super cold and yeah... If I spell everything wrong and sound distracted then I can't really help it. I keep looking out of the window in awe whilst sticking tissue up my nostrils. The whole world is white... It's just BEAUTIFUL.
Anyway, yeah, I wrote an 記事 months and months and months 前 so I'm trying not to just replicate that. Because my 一覧 only ever
changes for a new princess. I like my rut, don't be mean to it.
So yeah, same thing as always, swearing...

 # 9 Prince Charming
# 9 Prince Charming

Oh does this guy gripe me. I almost don’t even know where to start. I’ve never hated a ディズニー character; but what I feel for this chump is probably the closest I’ll ever get. Even though we don’t really get to know him in the first movie (which is what I go by…I don’t count sequels because they piss me off), I think I have a pretty good idea of how he rolls. I can “sort of” relate to him on one thing; his Father wanting him to get married so he can have grandchildren. My Mom wants nothing もっと見る than for me to find the right guy, settle down, and spit...

こんにちは everyone! This is my 秒 記事 and part two of comparing our ディズニー girls!

hmm... where should I start...?
Well, it's rumoured that シンデレラ was actually made after a native american legend called "Rough face girl"
except the legend goes that there was a young girl with two selfish sisters, who got all the nice beads, moccasins, and dresses. While all she got was hand-me-downs. And she didn't have cinder on her face, she actually had ASHES/burns. So she met a guy who fell in 愛 with her and told her to wash her face in a special lake, which made her face beautiful. They lived...

Hello everyone! I dont know if あなた remember me または if any of the people I use to talk to on here still come on here...but im going to try to come to this group もっと見る often...I miss it.

I was watching Beauty and the Beast tonight[Diamond Edition;] and I realized something so strange...I cry during this movie...

But only at two parts...when the beast "dies" and the other part....the ballroom scene.

The scene isnt sad and I know that...but does anyone else find it painfully beautiful...it never registered in this scene that Belle was dancing with a Beast, All I could think is:

Look at how much in love...

I haven’t made an 記事 in a long time, so when I was bored on a Sunday afternoon, raining bucket loads outside I thought I might as well do something. Basically this is an 記事 about my opinions about each princess’ dress sense in ranked order. Oh and I would like to mention Phantomrose89 whose last 記事 inspired me to make this.

So lets get started...

10. Rapunzel

I like the detail on Rapunzel's dress a lot. The デザイン on the スカート and the trims are really pretty. I like that her modern girl persona contrasts against her old time fairy tale outfit, with the lattice front,...

I watched all of the movies, the sequels, The Little Mermaid series, and the アラジン series yes I'm judgeing them on sequels and series too. I relized that some of them aren't as smart as some people think and some of them are smarter than some people think. Keep in mind this is my opinion I bet alor won't agree with some of this but since when does someone make a 一覧 of an opinion that every single person agree's with.

I haven't done one of there's yet but just to let all of あなた know I find everyone beautiful. I mainly base my looks on looks and outfits (Because usually the outfit makes the princess). Also special treat I put in a picture of myself at the end so あなた guys can see me hehehehehe.

13: Mulan

I find ムーラン rather plain compared to the rest of the princesses. She had her beauty moments but not has many as the others.
Like: Her smile and eyes
Dislike: Her hair and eyebrows

12: Belle
Like ムーラン I find Belle rather plain. She's maybe called beauty but she's isn't as pretty as the others. She has もっと見る good...

20. Ariel and Snow White

Ariel and Snow White are thought to have a lot of similarities. Both members of this pair are young, bubbly, naive, and fun. However, people also think that Snow White is a lot もっと見る contented than Ariel, and several people who voted for this pairing also think that Snow White is calm...
