I wrote this 記事 years 前 for the first ten princesses but now with Beyonce's 最近 contribution to the ディズニー family in the 2019 Lion King, I figured it was a good time as any to do an updated 一覧 with the twelve current official princesses. I decided to add Esmeralda, Megara, Anna, and Elsa too! We just take a look through the クイーン Bee's singles and see which one fits each princess based on the title, lyrics, 音楽 video and general feel of the song.

Do あなた know what's funny? Even though she's all about female empowerment and women being independent, Beyonce's just like virtually every female and MALE mainstream artist in that vast majority of her songs are about relationships in some way. Because of this, it was ironically difficult to pick songs for the revival princesses since half of them are "non-romantic" heroines. All the classic and renaissance princesses' songs were easy choices, complete no-brainers in some cases.

You'd think it would be the exact opposite, 与えられた how Beyonce's such a feminist icon, and that the classic princesses would get the short end of the stick but nope. I don't think this really detracts from ビヨンセ as a feminist. I think this says もっと見る about how romance is just a freaking normal thing that people, such as filmmakers, shouldn't go out of their way to shun または shame. I wouldn't be surprised if a similar issue arose if あなた used songs from another artist. Even the deepest singers' songs, Adele, for example, are mostly about romance.

Anyway, forgive that tangent, let's just get started with the playlist:

Snow White-Love on Top
It's a very bright feel-good song about being blissfully in love, probably the happiest most upbeat song in Beyonce's discography, perfect for the cheerful Snow White. The lyric "it's worth it after fighting through my tears" reflects the hardships she endured before finding true love, and the male backup singers represent the dwarfs.

Cinderella-Countdown
Of course, the word countdown alludes to the clock that strikes midnight. The lyrics speak of a woman with extremely desirable qualities hanging and riding around with her man, leaving other women, like her stepsisters, jealous. There's also a very retro 1950-60s vibe to this song, fitting considering Cinderella's look and the time of her film's release.

Aurora-Sweet Dreams
Well, duh. It's a dreamy song about dreams, and falling in 愛 with someone in 発言しました dreams and not wanting to wake up. The lyrics are one step away from verbatim to Aurora 歌う and pining for her dream prince.

Ariel-Baby Boy
It's a passionate song with tropical vibes and features the Jamaican artist, Sean Paul, who represents Sebastian. One line in particular, "in our own little world the 音楽 is the sun, the dance floor becomes the sea", sealed the deal, those lyrics pretty much describe Ariel and Eric's first meeting.

Belle-Halo
A soft and serene song about someone letting their guard down and being able to see the エンジェル within someone else, and that someone else is obviously the Beast. Times seemed grim when Belle first met the Beast but once she saw some good behind his exterior, she decided to give him a chance.

Jasmine-Upgrade U
A sassy song about a woman using her wealth to トウヒ, スプルース up her man, and アラジン went through quite a lifestyle change when he married Jasmine. In the song, ビヨンセ doesn't even care that he makes less money than her, she wants to help out and bring him up to her level, this fits ジャスミン to a T.

Pocahontas-Deja Vu
A wild and dramatic song, about a woman's 愛 for a man leaving her stressed and almost confused, SUITS/スーツ Pocahontas very well. Even もっと見る so 与えられた how the concept of deja vu relates to dreams, particularly the recurring spinning ARROW/アロー symbol that would eventually lead Poca to her love.

Mulan-If I Were a Boy
This one basically chose itself. In this song, Bey wonders what it's like to be a man and points out the common double standards between genders, particularly when it comes to relationships. ムーラン straight up lives that life to the extreme.

Tiana-Diva
This song is pretty simple. It's about a woman hustling and getting that money in spite of the naysayers, what Tiana was doing her whole life to get her restaurant. There's a confident no-nonsense attitude throughout the song that reflects Tiana perfectly.

Rapunzel-03 Bonnie and Clyde
This is a unique choice, as it's not really Bey's song, it's a duet between her and カケス, ジェイ Z. It's easy to compare Flynn and Punz to Bonnie and Clyde, a man running from the law with his soulmate. The "ride または die" theme works since out of all the DP couples, they came the closest to giving their lives for each other.

Merida-Listen
Now here's where the problem starts. This song honestly fits Ariel または Punz but I used it for Merida since her mom was really trying to mold her into something she's not and wouldn't listen to her. There are other high energy songs that would have matched her personality better but I couldn't use them because they're about romance.

Moana-I Was Here
Like Merida, she was difficult but I guess this one works. This song would suit pretty much every princess from Pocahontas onwards but since concepts like legacies and making a difference are so prevalent in Moana's story, it fits well enough.

Esmeralda-Naughty Girl
With Esmeralda embracing and displaying her sensuality proudly and every male lusting after her, this was an easy choice. There's also the parallel that can be drawn from the concept of "naughty" to "sinner", 与えられた the religious themes in HoND.

Megara-Best Thing I Never Had
One of the few ディズニー ladies to have an ex-boyfriend, this song speaks to Megara. She was head over heels in 愛 with a seemingly good man but he turned out to be a jerk and broke her heart, she later found true happiness with someone else.

Anna-Why Don’t あなた 愛 Me?
Anna pretty much spends the whole movie yearning for love, wondering why everyone from her parents to Elsa to Hans isn't treating her right. It's also a very kookie song, which is right up Anna's alley. She had many other choices, によって far the easiest princess post-Rapunzel to pick a song for. Shocking, right?

Elsa-Grown Woman
Another choice where there was difficulty. Like Merida and Moana, this song could easily be about ANY of the princesses but I ultimately gave it to Elsa, because this song is kinda like Let It Go, it's about having the freedom to do whatever あなた want.

Disney Princess-Run The World (Girls)
I decided to include a song to represent all the princesses. The world is basically the whole ディズニー franchise and 次 to Mickey マウス and The Lion King, the princesses are easily the most iconic and important figures to Disney's legacy. One thing I like about this song is that, in addition to women who are bosses and warriors, it takes the time to honor traditional women like stay at ホーム moms and housewives, perfectly encompassing all different kinds of women and their experiences.

So there あなた have it. This was fun, I'm hoping one 日 I'll be able to make a video for each princess using these songs. Thanks for reading!
