She at least supports gay/lesbian rights and tries to tell people that you should love yourself for who you are and not let anyone try to change you. But I'm with the above comment on the outfits. Then again, I don't think she was originally trying to appeal to a younger audience, it just kind of happened that way.
I like both of them, but neither of them are good role models, lol. I picked Gaga because she seems more authentic and has deeper meaning in her lyrics, so that influences girls to be themselves and be creative.
Anyone but Lady Gaga. She makes enjoyable music, but she talks about starving herself to keep up with the industry, and doesn't seem to express much shame about it, or any interest in stopping.
Katy Perry did say somewhere that if you want to look up to someone, look up to Miley Cyrus, who isn't a great role model at all since she is really skanky. But Katy Perry isn't bad, she doesn't try to be who others want, she's different. Lady Gaga isn't that bad either but her outfits are really revealing. In all honesty, I don't think there is a really great role model for young girls. Except maybe Taylor Swift, she's a great role model. Never anything terrible said about her image just that she can't seem to keep a boyfriend.
