I adore my boy Eric but I think he would have felt conflicted. He might even leave Ariel briefly. Depends on the timeline. If it was after he decided to be with Ariel but before they got married, he may leave her, perhaps only briefly before he realized it was wrong. But if it was after they got married, I think at that point he'd be like "nah, fam".

The guy seems to have loyalty to his own decisions. He sits on stuff a lot, true, and he rolls his decisions about in his mind... but at least he does arrive at an answer that keeps his loyalty towards others intact.

he would lean towards his savior. Also, who's to say maybe his savior would be better than Ariel for him. He was driven towards it even after meeting Ariel and deliberately kept away from her.

This is confusing enough, but Eric is a nice guy and gentleman so I don't think he would have dumped her (and I can't imagine that). Probably he would left her for briefly.

I think he would have give a reward to his savior because he is nice and grateful but would have realize that he had fantasize about an ideal and the one he really loves is Ariel

It really depends on what his real rescuer turned out to be like, but if she was also Eric's type then I think there is a real possibility that this could have happened. If he did decide to leave Ariel, I think he would be very gentle about it though. He wouldn't just run off on her.

But then, it's obvious that Ariel needs him, so I dunno lol.
