	JungleQueen13 picked Yes: I saw another version years ago when I was little (not sure which one it was) and it was just so depressing. I couldn't bear to watch it again. While Disney's isn't as close to the original fairy tale, I think the story and characters are much better. posted １年以上前.

	disneygirl7 picked Yes: The other anime style one where the mermaid is called Marina was really dumb. I'm sorry to anyone who liked it but I thought that version was plain stupid. Like, I remember that dolphin friend of hers said he would always be there to help or whatever but when she actually needed help he didn't even show up. 	Swanpride picked No, there's another version I prefer: I prefer the Czech version as an adaption, because it is beautifully made and way closer to the original story. The Little Mermaid is great movie, but as adaptation, it looses some points. posted １年以上前.

	TigerRanma picked Yes: I read the original story when I was little and i was depressed at the end. I had to rewatch the Disney version because I didn't like that she died. I prefer Disney's version. I want the happily ever after. Screw the whole mermaid going through so much pain in attempt in getting the prince to love her, it all being wasted because he marries someone else, and then she committing suicide as a supposed sign that she loves him by choosing not to kill him.
