So...I begin this によって saying that I am an adult ファン of Ariel. Impacted によって The Little Mermaid from the age of 9, I am an adult collector, and I currently have Ariel ALL OVER my adult bedroom.

I commend 作者 Liz Braswell on her "nods" to the elements found in the original 1989 film that is known world over. Some passages of the book she has written made sense to me, while other parts did not. *Eric getting a tattoo was not one of my stand-out お気に入り moments, and it jarred with all of the proceeding characterization 与えられた to him によって the author*

I suppose, for those who didn't 愛 Ariel's original personality--- her impulsiveness, wit, and curiosity--- "seeing Ariel now 'reigned in' によって ponderous adult responsibilities" provides a dimension that they'll appreciate more. Ariel spends most of the entirety of this book "as クイーン of Atlantica." There. No もっと見る spoilers. I, whose childhood was erected in much the same repressed household that Ariel's character "sprouted from," doesn't feel like "more was added to the character of Ariel" によって having the mermaid "stripped of her dreams"--- and "saddled with guilt." This book focuses heavily on an Ariel who "is riddled with guilt for having wanted to be a human." 読書 it, makes me wonder how this Ariel is really the same as the one in the 1989 film? If the 1989 film was about a strict parent (Triton) "relaxing his stranglehold on young adulthood," then this book really is about "a psychologically damaged adult mermaid" trying to "rectify problems that she did not, herself, create, but was merely 'a pawn' in, in the first place."
I don't understand the need for feminist trappings in this book, but like every ディズニー movie または ディズニー book these days, here the feminism is sprinkled heavily in as a 製菓, 菓子, お菓子の森 treat--- meant "to liven up the contents of whatever was already sweet” and "make it palatable for the newest consumers." Ariel was already a feminist character in 1989. Here in 2021, some 36 years later, she still causes a stir. There is no real need for "more feminist flourishes" on her character. Within this book, there is some lingering purulent odor, almost catering to the exact audience who has all these years "wished for Ariel to be punished" because she dared to leave the nest, and didn't want to be a mermaid in the first place.

Funnily enough, this version of Ariel LOVES her duality, and she prefers being a mermaid OVER being a human for much of the book. Talk about a 180 degree flip in identity issues. I found myself wondering how Howard Ashman would take all of this…

That being said, most of the nearly 500 pages of this book consist of very melancholy proceedings, not much helped によって the villain's presence. As to Ursula's "goings on," this occurs only midway through the book. We only grasp how much of "a real presence and villainous" Ursula is, during the last third of the book. ( I suppose, I wish ディズニー had clued Liz Braswell in on the "true reason Ursula got exiled によって Triton"--- which would have made for a far better story overall--- hence, why I picked this book up in the first place! But alas. No true reason is revealed for why Ursula originally got ostracized. Bdumptsss).
Braswell is good at moving the audience to pity over the plight of Ariel's "lost voice, her ロスト father, and her ロスト future with Eric." Braswell also is good at moving us to pity over the loss of Eric's "awareness" and "his agency." This premise of this book is that Eric "was stripped of his agency" just as Ariel "was stripped of her voice." This made for rather funereal proceedings as it were.
I am not exactly thrilled after 読書 this book, and neither am I totally disappointed. The "whiff" I got, along with Max, was that "nothing really new could happen for Atlantica または Eric's Kingdom even if Ursula won the game of dupes, and ruled over all." This was a let-down for me, because honestly, I was looking for why Ursula became so hell bent on revenge in situ.
Should あなた read this book as an Ursula fan? As an Ariel fan? As a ファン of neither one? Sure! It won't hurt to read it. But would I recommend this as something that should find a major place on your bookshelf at home? Nope. I think it's an "okay riff" on the musical piece that already exists. This entry into the plethora of The Little Mermaid 本 neither improves nor diminishes the original characters, and it certainly doesn't improve on the original context and plot. I became frustrated that the care-free aspect was very much annihilated. The original feel of Ariel being synonymous with "fun" and "exploration" was ロスト to me, until the very last pages.

I've been wanting to write this 記事 for a while, but I've been struggling coming up with an order I'm happy with. I'm pretty sure I've finally cracked the code, so here I go! Thanks for 読書 and I hope あなた enjoy ^-^ ((pretend there are pictures shhh they're invisible))

13. Ariel

Partly the reason she's my least favorite. I can't relate to her at all, really. I'm not brave, I'm not rebellious, I'm not romantic, I'm not bubbly, I'm not at all like her. She's pretty rash and enjoys taking risks as well, two other things I can't relate to whatsoever. So yeah, she's definitely at the bottom....

Well, it seems like everyone has done such an 記事 after dimitri_'s excellent idea so here's mine:

1. What name would あなた change yours to?

Aurora. I 愛 how it sounds and its meaning and also I'd 愛 it if people were calling me Rory.

2. Which skills would あなた like to develop?

I would definitely want to have Pocahontas' ability of climbing on the trees, jumping off the rocks and doing everything she does during Just Around The Riverbend.

3. Who would あなた want for a parent?

I really 愛 my parents, but if I had to choose, I'd like to have Mulan's parents, they adore her and...

I'm not entirely satisfied with some of the middle placings (like I am with basically every 一覧 I write, for some reason) and I'm a bit unsure if the 上, ページのトップへ two are correctly placed, but here's who I guess would win または at least last the longest in the Game of Thrones, who would sit atop the Iron Throne. I really tried to be objective. あなた might be surprised によって some of the rankings.

14. Anna. Anna has freakish super strength, good leadership skills, is very warm, but she never has a game plan and has shown to be easily manipulated. Like Renly Baratheon, she has a very romantic, idealistic look...

I took the idea of the modelling from BKG201's article. I decided to state my opinion on which princesses would be great models. I just want to say before I start, that I don't judge only によって appearance, because to be a good model あなた don't have neccesarily to be gorgeous looking. Anyway, here we go.

13) Anna

Firstly, Anna is pretty but her mouth and her nose are quite awful and her eyes are too close to each other. Her hair is ok, I guess. Her body is great for a model. The biggest problem is the way she moves. She's awkward, clumsy and slouch and remember that moment when she was singing...

Do the princesses care about their people?

Snow White well even though I never played Kingdom of Hearts its implied either Snow's kingdom is called the Dwarfs' kingdom または something. Well we know that Snow at least cares about dwarves and the wild animals.

Cinderella-well if シンデレラ II counts-she does care about the 'non-notability または royalty' aka townspeople being invited to her first big event. She also cares about her step-sister Anasista's 愛 life from the same movie

Sleeping Beauty-she never real gets a change until after the movie is finished to meet her future subjects.

Ariel-don't really...

I thought I would make this 記事 just for the sake of knowing. If there are any new users, it will be great for あなた to read this 記事 so あなた can get to know which princess we favor. I also give あなた a brief biography on each of the princesses.

Snow White- Lets go back to the princess that started it all shall we? Her hair, black as ebony, and her skin white as snow.

Evil Queen- "SNOW WHITE!!"

Yes, for the first time in forever the Evil クイーン is right. She may have not fought in a war, be extremely feisty, または have magical hair powers but Snow is sweet while having a big personality and she...
