Why are people petitioning Merida's redesign?

Because she was meant to be the one tomboy princess for tomboy girls to relate and look up to. Even the creator of Brave, Brenda Chapman, has a problem with the デザイン too. I think Merida looks great though.

I see the change in her look, but I don't really see a reason why they'd petition for it. It's not that big of a deal. (I suppose I would've made a fit with her eyes though). But I suppose it that would be what she'd look like in the official lineup, maybe it is.
