Anyone know what Yami's age is in Season 0?

In the japanese version he's 3000 years old, both in the マンガ and the anime, therefore the conclution is that he's most likely 3000 in season 0 as well.
For some reason, I get the feeling that the dubbers added the extra 2000 years to make him もっと見る ancient and/or mysterious/dramatic.....
