Chapter Six- "More Clashes..."



Central Park was not a very nice place to be wandering around in the middle of the night. Even if あなた were a masked crime-fighter with extreme abilities または super-powers.

It was almost a garantee of death if あなた were just a normal person. Lots of different kinds of slime existed in the park. Drug dealers, rapists, psychopathical murderers. And of course the common crooks who take every advantage they can.

Such as taking a hostage to ensure they go to jail for a really long time instead of the short sentence for robbing a bank.

"Don't move!" the guy warned, pushing the gun in the girl's ear.

"We won't." Cheif Draxx replied.

The hostage was a young girl who's face was hidden によって her long, blonde hair. She was around the age of sixteen and was sobbing desperately.

The man who was holding the gun to her head was a heavily built man around the ripe age of forty years old. He had a mask covering his face, but he was obviously in pain about what he was doing.

The Chief of Police for New York City was a thick, british man around thirty. He was constantly chewing a piece of spearmint bubble-gum. He was dressed in kahkis, a white dress シャツ and an undone tie. He looked exhausted. Even もっと見る so when Green Arrow's sidekick landed 次 to him.

"Where's Revenge?" he asked.

Artemis frowned at him.

"What's the situation?" Red Revenge asked, swinging down 次 to Draxx and glaring at Artemis. "And what is she doing here?"

"Uhhh..." Draxx found himself in a predicament he didn't want to heat up anymore.

Draxx cleared his voice after a 秒 and turned back to the crime scene.

"The man robbed a jewelry store downtown."

"Was just there." Revenge and Artemis 発言しました at the same time. They glared at each other and Draxx continued.

"We began to follow him and he ran into Central Park. He grabbed a girl and has been threatning to blow her brains out if anyone comes near her.

"Ive got this." Artemis said, reaching for the wrist-launcher hidden under her glove.

"No, wait." Revenge said. "Chief, any idea who this guy is?"

"Yeah." Draxx said, leaning into his car. "One James Banks. Got fired from Grant Industries this morning for punching someone in the face. Mrs. Grant's secretary I think."

Revenge raised an eyebrow.

"He has a past of a short temper, but no criminal record. He appears to be a blue-collar working man who is just desperate."

"Good." Revenge said. "Artemis,stay here."

"Youre not leaving me out of this!" Artemis exclaimed, grabbing his arm.

"I said, stay." Revenge growled.

Artemis frowned and stepped back.

"Ah, dont worry kid. He does that with all of his partners. または sidekicks, whatever." Draxx said.

"Im not a sidekick." Artemis growled.

Draxx chuckled and put another piece of gum into his mouth.



"James." Reveng shouted.

"Dont come any closer, vigilante!" the man shouted.

"Im not." Revenge said, raising his hands.

"What do あなた want?" the man asked.

"Just to talk." Revenge said. A moment later his utility ベルト hit the ground. "See? No weapons!"

The man hesitated but nodded. Revenge took several steps フォワード, 前進, 楽しみにして before the man told him to stop.

"Not another step または she dies!"

Revenge stopped.



"Artemis."

"What Wally?" Artemis asked irritably.

"Batman sent us a picture of the two assassins."

Artemis checked her holo screen. Cheshire and one other girl dressed in a green and black body suit with long blonde hair.

"Batman 発言しました the girl was spotted near Central Park in the past 10 minutes. Keep an eye on Revenge."

"Will do." Artemis sighed.



"I can personally guarantee that the incident will be cleared up and あなた will have a job によって tomorrow morning." Revenge said.

"I have a wide range of influence."

The man hesitated, but slowly lowered the gun. Revenge started slowly フォワード, 前進, 楽しみにして when the girl spoke.

"Stop."

Revenge and the man froze.

The girl tossed her hair back and Revenge got a good look at her face.

"Ah, shit." he mumbled, stumbling back, looking for his utility belt.

"That's right where I want you." she mumbled. Kicking her 'kidnapper' away from her, ヒイラギ, ホリー pulled out two fully automatic machine pistols and fired.

Red Revenge tackled Artemis to the ground. Draxx and the rest of the officers found their way behind a police car.

"Ugh! Get off!" Artemis protested.

Revenge was off and reaching into his cape によって the time Artemis had finished her sentence. He pulled out several daggers.

"You lied." Artemis said, narrowing her eyes.

"What am I? Stupid?" Revenge asked, making sure the daggers were ready to go.

"Come out, come out wherever あなた are." ヒイラギ, ホリー said, shooting a few もっと見る rounds toward Revenge and Artemis's position.

"You may not like it," Artemis said. "But あなた need my help on this one."

"Watch, and learn little girl." Revenge said. He disappeared into the shadows.

A moment later, he and the assassin flew over the car desperately stabbing and shooting at each other. Artemis raised her bow, but even the expert marksmans she was, she couldn't get a clean shot on Holly.

It didnt take long for Revenge to go flying into the police car courtesy a uppercut from Holly.

"Thanks." Artemis said, raising her bow. She shot exploding arrows at the girl but ヒイラギ, ホリー merely grinned, dodged them all, disappearing into the trees.

Revenge growled and was about to yell at Artemis when he decided better of it and grappled away.
