Somethine i wrote a LONG time ago..Dont laugh..haha.. but anyways, i thought maybe this would keep あなた somewhat entertained while i try to write something else ;)

Chapter 1

    Alexandra Evans scanned the sky. There wasn’t a 雲, クラウド in sight. Alex looked down at her reflection in the watering hole. Her blonde hair reached almost past her waist only it looked a little bit shorter because she wore it in a braid almost always. Her green eyes had little ゴールド chips in them that her family told her glowed like 火災, 火 when she was angry. Suddenly, a bump pushed her sprawling into the water. She came up sputtering. Her jeans were soaked and she sat up to her chest in water. She slowly stood and walked toward her mustang, her anger building. Her gelding jumped backwards and snorted in mock fright. The マスタング, マストン picked his hooves up high and trotted away.
“ Echo! No, come back here boy!” Alex jumped フォワード, 前進, 楽しみにして and watched her パロミノ マスタング, マストン trot down the canyon. There was no way she was walking all the way ホーム on foot.
“ Echo! Come here now!” The マスタング, マストン lifted his head and 芝居 like he had just heard her, he doubled back. Alex watched her gelding trotting back to her. His golden コート gleamed like the sun and his long mane floated on his neck like strands of flowing white silver. He came to a halt in front of her and bumped her with his muzzle. Alex laughed and snagged his reins before he could run away again. She tightened his cinch after letting him rest a moment more. She tried to fit her hand between the cinch and Echo’s golden tummy to make sure the マスタング, マストン hadn’t pulled one of his ‘jokes’ on her. Alex made sure her saddlebags were still attached tightly and jammed her boot into her stirrup. Even before Alex tightened her legs on Echo, he started out. Alex loosened her reins and let Echo pick his way around boulders scattered on the canyon trail. Alex looked at the wide blue sky. As they approached the mouth of canyon Alex pointed Echo toward Cole Ranch. Her friend, Nicky Coleman, was supposed to meet her half way. Alex eased Echo up into a jog. She looked at the endless flat hard packed tan ground around them then finally toward the mountains. They shone a dark purple against the blue of the sky. Suddenly, a figure appeared. Alex smiled. That had to be Nicky. But as Alex tilted her Stetson back slightly, she could tell it wasn’t. Only one person could ride a horse that well. Chase Jones. Chase rode his bossy, バックスキン, 鹿革 mare Classy like he was a pro. Which he was. Chase took his rancher background seriously. He was the best tracker around and could ride any horse. Alex brought Echo to a stop. She knew he was coming to her. There was no dodging him now. Chase brought Classy to a neat stop in front of Echo and Alex. Echo extended his muzzle and nickered a friendly nicker. Classy flattened her ears against her skull and swished her tail to threaten him to stay away. Chase looked at Alex from below his Stetson. His dark gray eyes looked at her lazily.
“ Hi Cowgirl.”
Alex glared at him as he 発言しました her childhood nickname.
“You find any of those strays?” Chase asked.
“Yeah.”
“ How many?” Chase asked and cocked his head as he took in her still wet figure.
Alex waited before replying. Chase wasn’t one to say many words and she loved making him feel what it was like to have to wait. Even though she was only sixteen and he was eighteen, didn’t mean he had to play her big brother role, which he did.
“ About ten.”
A white smile flashed across his darkly tan face.
“ Way to go Cowgirl. Didn’t know if you’d find them.”
“ Why not?” Alex wasn’t as experienced as Chase was but she knew pretty much what she was doing.
Chase shrugged and finally replied. “ Let’s go get ‘em.”
He moved Classy off at a jog but Alex kept Echo back.
“ I’m supposed to meet Nicky.” She hollered. Her words hit Chase’s retreating back.
“ Fine!” She retorted and started to turn Echo back toward Cole Ranch.
“ Come on Cowgirl. You’re supposed to help me.”
Alex snorted. “ Like あなた couldn’t get them によって yourself.”
“ Suit yourself.”
“ I will.”
Alex waited a moment longer before sighing and nudging Echo into a lope. As she drew up beside Chase, Classy broke into a lope and the two 馬 thundered along. As the loped along Alex let herself think. Chase had been her best friend for as long as she could think of. Except for the three years she had been in Chicago. Because she was eight, Dad had allowed her to pick her own horse. When Shasta, a black マスタング, マストン mare that the ranch hands hade bought and broke, had 与えられた birth to a tiny, solid silver colt, Alex had fallen in 愛 with it. When Alex found out that Solider Blue, a wild blue 葦毛の馬, ローン, 魯庵 mustang, was the sire, it had made her even もっと見る excited. Alex absent-mindedly eased Echo down into a jog and let him follow Classy. When Alex was ten and Chase was already an expert horseman at age twelve, Dad let Alex and Chase break the horse. Buddy, the gray コルト had been named, was two. Every 日 the Chase and Alex would get him and lead him down to the river and groom him and sometimes give him bathes. Alex smiled at the memory. In the river, Alex had ridden him for the first time.
“ あなた comin’ Cowgirl?”
Alex glared at Chase’s back.
“ Yeah. あなた don’t have to treat me like a baby!” Alex stuck her tongue at Chase’s back.
Alex tried to calm herself. She knew Chase still felt bad about her and was always worrying about her. Alex rubbed her head at the thought. That 日 she had bugged Chase to come over so she could ride Buddy. He had to do something for his father at their ranch and couldn’t do it. Alex sulking had gone and climbed on to Buddy’s big strong back. Thinking that Buddy loved her so much, she didn’t even put his ホルター on. It started out okay and Alex had guided Buddy with her legs and hands. But he had started getting spunky and suddenly Alex had seen what was bothering him. A herd of mustangs were gathered drinking at the canyon watering hole. The herd stallion had screamed his challenge. Buddy had reared and answered. Alex remembered the feeling of screaming and trying to grab Buddy’s long mane. Her fingers grabbed nothing and she fell backwards. Something hard like a rock had hit her head and everything had went black. She had woke up in a white hospital room. Dad had sent her to Chicago to stay with her Grandma Marie. Alex swept the mountains with her eyes looking for Buddy. Actually, Buddy had grown up to be the wild マスタング, マストン stallion, Ghost. Some people claimed he wasn’t real. He should be about eight now.
“ Wake up Cowgirl. Where were they?” Chase asked turning Classy sideways so he could look at her.
“ You’re the expert. Where are they?” Alex snapped. Thinking about Ghost, she glanced over the sparse trees and sage.
Chase sighed and removed his Stetson and wiped his wet forehead. Dark wavy locks spilled slightly over his forehead and he brushed them back impatiently.
“ Come on Cowgirl. It would be easier if あなた just told me where they are.” Chase put back on his Stetson and Classy swished her tail.
Alex smirked at him before answering. “What?” Alex feigned mock horror. “ Chase Jones? Being lazy? I can’t believe it!” She put her hand on her forehead and pushed her Stetson back and pretended to feel faint. Chase narrowed his eyes and without moving his hands, Classy stepped closer until Chase was facing Alex and he leaned over.
“ Listen here, Cowgirl,” He started and Alex glared at him from under her own Stetson. She reached up and fiddled with her stampede string, ignoring him. He leaned closer. His hot breath hit her face.
“ I have better places I could be!”
Alex thrust her chin up stubbornly. “ Yeah? Then why aren’t あなた there?”
Chase’s eyes relaxed slightly. He squinted lazily.
“ Cause someone has to keep あなた out of trouble.”
Alex tilted her head and continued to stare at him silently.
“ What?” Chase asked pretending not to know why she was using the silent treatment on him.
Alex lowered her gaze slightly.
“ Yep. Just like あなた to back down from a challenge.” Chase 発言しました a smile tugging at his mouth. Alex jerked her gaze back up to his gray eyes. He put leg pressure on Classy and she moved even closer to Echo and was pressing against Alex’s leg. Chase leaned toward Alex.
“ Doesn’t surprise me.”
Alex continued staring at him. They were nose to nose silently battling the battle of the wills. Alex glared into his smoky eyes and thought about how all the girls at school thought Chase was a knockout. With his dark wavy hair, gray eyes and, of course being a “cowboy” made him have a lot of attention from females. It definitely had made him cocky. Suddenly, Alex gathered a plan. He was close enough. A mischievous gleam came to her green eyes and made them sparkle.
Chase faltered his glaring a moment. “ What?”
Alex slowly gathered Echo’s reins. Since they were so close anyway, Alex gathered her courage, knowing he would be mad even if she was only teasing, and pressed her lips to his cheek quickly and at the same time flicking his Stetson down into his eyes with her hand.
“ What the…” Chase recoiled back quickly like he had been stung and tried to resituate his Stetson.
    That was all Alex needed. She smiled to herself as she kicked Echo and he bolted フォワード, 前進, 楽しみにして into an immediate lope, unseating Alex momentarily but she quickly found his rhythm and they galloped toward the canyon.
    Ha! Alex thought to herself. That would make him think for a while. Of course she didn’t like him any もっと見る than a friend but as for teasing, she had him there. Echo lifted his golden legs high as he maneuvered his way between rocks. Alex heard Classy’s hooves behind them and her smile faltered a moment. Chase would probably get her back but it was worth it. A full smile returned to her face as she came to the small lake used as a watering hole for the mustangs and other wild animals. The ground cleared and suddenly Classy and Chase were right beside them. Classy slowly pushed Echo over until both 馬 were cantering in the water. Alex’s face froze. No! No! No! Alex mind yelled. She had already fallen into this water once today. Classy slowed slightly and Echo lunged forward, hopping a little, trying to gallop in the water. Alex was starting to think she might make it when suddenly, Chase’s arms encircled her waist and she was dragged off Echo’s rump.
