EVEN THOUGH THE BOOK SAID HE WAS A SKELETON I STILL THOUGHT HE WAS BUFF

In Twilight and really early New Moon, he struck me as more of an awkward, lanky, adolescent. Then he had that "growth spurt" and he was buff from then on.
He's always been lovable and amazing though.

He used to be skinny, but after phasing, he just started building up some muscle - not body-builder like of course. Just muscular.

I agree with timbitzk (you changed your picture! I almost didn't recognize you!), at first I thought of him as awkward and lanky, then he had his growth spurt and became "buff". So for me, it's kind of both...I guess it should be no though because I didn't always think of him as "buff"...

i pictured him as this one guy in a TV show (Angel) and he's VERY buff.

I didn't picture him as buff until the growth spurt. It said he was tall and skinny... i know a lot of guys that are tall and skinny, and they have muscles, but they are NOT buff.
