ebcullen4ever: Actually, romance books tend to be forgotten more often than you think. It's because romance DOES get old, though not in the way you put it in context in your last comment. People like reading romance because they know what will happen in the end: the two characters get together. Of course, this is not the case with EVERY romance book, but it is the case for most, and that includes Twilight. Other than Jane Austen (author of Pride and Prejudice and other romance novels) and Emily Bronte (author of Wuthering Heights), what authors do you know of that are considered great because of the romance novels they wrote? There probably are others, but most probably do not know of them. Even though I can see Twilight still having its fans in the future, I can't imagine it being read by millions or be considered great literature.

I hope I don't sound like a hater of the books, because I honestly am not. I don't necessarily like the books either, but I don't hate them. I hope you see why I think this way. But remember, don't let people tell you what you must read. Read what you want to read, not what literature snobs say you have to read. Unless you're reading Fifty Shades of Grey. No. Just no.

Some of the fans of this series are ... enthusiastic, shall we say. I don't think that they'll ever let it go. It'll always be a part of them and they may pass it down to their children, you know?
