Chapter Three: Were Better Off Without You

Later that night, the night was still. The night sky was starry, and everything was normal: Ramens chasing after Bounty, and Bounty running from Ramens...people watching and cheering the Ramens on to kill the Bounty, which they do, and clap and congratulate as they watch the bodies get thrown onto the Pile of Burnt Bounty! I sat on the floor 次 to Jake's ベッド with Derek as we both listened to the argument coming from the room down the hall.
"So," Derek said. "We need to talk..."
"About?" I asked.
"The rag..."
"Oh god! あなた see, I was starteled and I packed up quickly not seeing if I had everything and-"
"Shh! It's okay, Hayley, really! I would've done the same. But after the head of the group found the rag, he smelled it twice, and tasted it remember? He tasted Jake's blood and 発言しました 'sweet blood'. Then sent the others after us!" Derek explained.
"Yeah, I saw it too. Maybe he was identifying it, nothing special." I suggested.
"But surely weird!" Derek replied.
"Yeah, but then again we've seen it before!"
"In what?" He asked. "When?"
"When we were kids, and we used to watch TV shows and 映画 together...there was this one where this girl likced this bloody paper towel and idenitified who it was." I explained.
"Oh yeah...that was ターミネーター 3: Rise of the Machines. Yeah I remember, but then again, she was a machine and it was a movie!" Derek 発言しました and then something clicked in his head. "Maybe there not who they say they are!"
"What do あなた mean?" I asked.
"What if the ラーメン kind is actually computerized machines!?" Derek 発言しました which alarmed me some.
"That's stupid!" Jake whispered.
"JAKE!" I jumped to my feet and he coughed trying to laugh.
"Hey," Was all he could manage. "Where am I?"
"You don't remember?" I asked. "We found this place,"
"Shelter, she means!" Derek said.
"Yes, shelter, and a couple, Rick and Zo, took us under there wing. Derek and Zo opporated on you, and now here we are! Wait a minute...Zo 発言しました あなた were supossed to be up the 次 day..." I 発言しました and Jake laughed.
"It is the 次 day!" Zo interupted.
"Whoa, is it really?" Derek asked and Rick nodded.
"Yup! But here's the hard part, we gotta make sure no one sees us as we leave this place!"
"Wait," I said.
"Leaving?" Zo finished.
"Yeah, Derek and I are gonna' go see if we can find something. Like a good killing of a ラーメン または two...find some もっと見る 食 if your'e staying with us for a while." Rick answered and Zo smiled.
"Good boy." She whispered in his ear as she hugged him good bye. "Go find us something good!"
"Sure will!" Rick 発言しました and took the sand covered metal board off from the ceiling and looked at Derek. "Come on."
"Bye, Derek." I 発言しました and he smiled. "Be careful."
"We will." He 発言しました and they left to go on the hunt.
"Alright, Jake, how あなた feeling?" Zo asked Jake as Derek and Rick replaced the rock where it once laid.
"Good, weak, but good." Jake answered.
"Good!" Zo 発言しました and started looking for something.
"Need help?" I asked her and Zo shook her head.
"Nope, cause I just found it!" Zo took out a large plastic bag, holding some oat meal looking liquid.
"What is that?" Jake asked.
"This, is your medicine! I mixed it up straight from some...well, medicine! Last night, its the only thing that'll regain your strength!" She grabbed a cup off the shelf, and poured some from the bag into the cup. "Drink up!" She handed the cup to Jake and Jake looked at it disgusted.
"No thanks." He whispered, あなた could tell he was still weak.
"Drink!" Zo and I 発言しました in unison.
"Fine!" He 発言しました and began to drink. "It's actually not that-EW!"
"It's the aftertaste that's bad." Zo 発言しました and poured the rest in the cup. "Drink some more." And Jake did without hesitation.
"Now nibble on this till they get back." Zo handed Jake a bar like thing, which was wrapped up in a napkin.
"What is it?" Jake asked.
"A granoala bar..." Zo 発言しました and walked backwards towards the room she came out of a few 分 before. "I'm gonna wash up! I suspect あなた do the same. There is a bowl, in the other room behind you, Hayley, filled up with water. One is to get all soapy from, the other to rinse from. Jake, if the boys get back before were out, just tell them were in the rooms bathing!"
"Okay." Jake said, crunching down the bar he was given. "Got anymore?"
"Yeah, uh...that bag right over there Hayley," Zo pointed to the bag under the shelf that held the medicle supplies. "Hand those to Jake. Rick and I dont care for them that much. Eat as much as あなた like!"
"Thanks!" Jake 発言しました to Zo and I both as I handed him the bag.
"Bathing bound!" I smiled and walked off into the room I was instructed to and closed the door behind me. I locked it, and looked around the room. I saw a 表, テーブル with two bowls on it. Both filled with water. But one had a bar of soap on the side, and there were towels on the floor so あなた didn't soak the floor. And then あなた just used it to dry off. There was also a rag hanging on the side of the bowl with the soap 次 to it.
I took off my shirt, and pushed down my pants. I walked over to the two bowls, and began to wash in the warm water that was left out for us.

We left the girls and Jake back at the underground shelter, I watched as four Ramens go によって just as we hid behind a tree. After they passed, Rick looked at me with a worried, but yet concerned, look on his face.
"That was close." I breathed and he laughed softly.
"Yeah, now where was that cave あなた found those two 愛 birds in?" Rick asked. "I wanna see if they lasted the night."
"Uh...its over behind that rock!" I pointed towards the rock, and Rick swiftly moved towards it, watching out for Ramens.
"Oh god!" He 発言しました and backed up some, covering his eyes with his hands.
" 'Oh god' what?" I asked, walking where he stood, and as I did I wish I didn't. Cause there, in the middle of the floor, lay the two naked bodies. A girl and a boy. There body was drenched in there own blood, and they lay on the floor. Bullet holes were in there backs, and cuts and ナイフ slits were everwhere. They were tortured! または so it looked.
"At least they died together..." Rick said.
"What makes あなた think that?" I asked and Rick started to walk inside the cave. "What are あなた doing?"
"Checking there I.D." Rick said, walked over to the pile of clothes and searched there pockets for wallet(s). "Nothing! Ramens took it already..."
"So sad...they loved eachother." I 発言しました and we left the cave for the final time.
We walked and walked until we stopped at a tree. "Up there!" Rick pointed towards a certain part up in the tree's leaves.
"What?" I asked.
"There's something...up...ther-" And Rick was pulled up through the tree.
"RICK!" I 発言しました and he laughed.
"It's okay. It's just Bobby! What's up Bobby?" I heard Rick 発言しました and they both laughed together.
"Good." I heard Bobby answer. "Oh no!"
"What?" Rick and I 発言しました in unison.
"Ramens, coming our way! Hurry, up the tree!" Bobby 発言しました and I jumped up the 木, ツリー limb によって limb. I was almost there when I slipped and fell back to the ground.
"SIR! We found a live one!" I heard a voice say. I got to my feet, and turned to see ten Ramen's standing in front of me. All there weapons pointed at me.
"Well," Another voice said. "Let's see who he is! Well, well, Derek Jones. あなた are easy to find! I expected a doctor to be hard to kill...but apparantly I was wrong!"
"Oh don't get too cocky yet!" Rick 発言しました jumping down from the 木, ツリー and punching two ラーメン in the face. "NOW!" He yelled and three men dropped from the 木, ツリー Rick was pulled up to. One of them grabbed two Ramens によって the arm and yanked them into the tree, making them hit there head awfully hard, falling to the ground with a groan and a thump. Another one, punched one ラーメン in the gut, kicking a 秒 in the leg making them both fall to the ground! The third, yanked the 銃 away from three Ramen, and punched them all in the throat making them cry out in pain. Then he threw them to the ground, slamming there head against a rock.
I saw the head of the group, looking shocked, scared, and confused on what was happening. His gun held to his side which stood out like a bright yellow beckon against a dark shade of blue telling me one word: Advantage! I grabbed the head of the group によって the arms, and spun him into the tree. But he was too quick! He pressed up against the 木, ツリー and kicked me in the jaw. I fell to the ground, spitting blood out of my mouth to the dirt earth floor.
"You've got guts, kid! And I like that!" The head of the group said, turning to face me. He looked down upon me and smiled evily. "Get up!"
I rose to my feet, and took a breath. Was this guy serious? Was this guy not gonna kill me until he fought me? Either way, I thought, There's a good chance I'll die!
I looked at him, and he just looked back at me.
"Come on!" Rick said, and a quick flash of the eye made a huge mistake. The head of the ラーメン group charged me, ナイフ gripped in hand, and he was about to stick it in me when he was knocked over によって one of his men.
"Your welcome!" A female voice said, and as I turned I saw a head engulfed によって blonde frizzy hair. She straightened it back, and pulled it into a ポニー tail. "Watch it!" She said, pushed me out of her line of fighting, and began to let the Ramens have it. She grabbed the one she threw at the head of the group to the ground, kicking the head of the group, grabbing his knife, and sticking it in the ラーメン on the ground's neck. "That should...never mind!" She turned and threw the head of the group into bushes, and as she headed toward them she was kicked back into me, making us fall to the ground hard.
"Sam!" A voice yelled, and he tore his way through the crowd, sauntering over towards the bushes. He pulled out a gun, aimed it at the bushes, and pulled down the trigger. Bullets were flying in every direction. He made sure he got every part of the bush, incase the head of the group moved out of his line of fire, and then we heard a cry of pain and he toppeled out of the bushes, face down into the ground.
The man with the gun walked over to the girl, Sam, and helped her to her feet. "You okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine!" She replied, looked at me, and walked after the man with the gun, back into the fighting crowd. And I followed, joining the fight.
"Oh come on!" Rick repeated, shoving his palm on a Ramen's nose, making them fall to the ground instantly dead. "Easy!"
"Be careful!" Sam 発言しました throwing two Ramens out of her way. "There not who あなた think they are!"
"Oh whatever!" A male voice said.
"Shut up, Jeremy!" Sam said, sticking her ナイフ into the gut of the two Ramens she threw to the ground.
"Oh don't start this again!" Jeremy said, blocking a fist to his face.
"Not! Now!" Bobby ordered and the fight continued in silence. Well except for the cries of pain.
"Can't wait till the King of Fours likes me もっと見る then the others for killing you!" A ラーメン said, taking out his gun and aiming it at me.
"And I can't wait to kill the King of Fours!" Rick 発言しました jumping on the back of the ラーメン and I ducked just in time as bullets started flying past me. I craweled によって them, and tripped the ラーメン just as Rick jumped off his back.
"Knife!" I yelled, and Sam threw me her knife. I turned and stuck it in the chest of the Ramen.
"KNIFE!" Sam yelled, turned and I threw it back to her. She kicked the last ラーメン down and stabbed him in the gut.
We all sighed, and looked at the dead Ramens on the ground. "Wow!" Sam 発言しました putting her ナイフ away as she cleaned it off with the arm sleeve of a Ramens jacket. "Bags anyone?"
"Give us half!" Rick 発言しました putting his weapon away.
"Theres only eight, four for us and for you!" Bobby handed two to me and two to Rick. "Be careful."
Sam took a good look at me, smiled, and climbed the 木, ツリー they all dropped from with two back packs on her back.
"Alright. あなた too!" Rick 発言しました and started to walk back towards our shelter.

"Were just leaving? Just like that?" I asked and Rick laughed while nodding.
"You've got alot to learn kid," Rick 発言しました removing the boulders hiding our shelter. "Once theres a fight, and または a kill, もっと見る Ramens come. There just like hornets!"
"What do あなた mean?" I asked.
"Horents are like homing missles! If あなた throw a rock at there nest and dont get out the way, your dead または hurt cause they just zoom out of there nest and fly right where あなた were standing from throwing that rock. Can't beleive あなた didn't know tha-"
"No! I know that, but how are the Ramens just like Hornets?" I re asked.
"If there is a fight, and または a kill, もっと見る Ramens come!" Rick repeated, and it sunk it finally.
"Well okay. But wont they find Bobby and the others?" I asked which made Rick stop.
"What do あなた mean?" He asked.
"Well, the fight was right によって the tree, so wouldn't other Ramens find them up in the tree?" I 発言しました and Rick threw the bags down the stairs, and put the boulders back where he removed them.
"Your right," He looked around, then stared at me. "Lets go!"

I dried my hair, and checked myself in the mirror. Looked tons better then before! My hair looked straighter and not dry! My skin looked shinier and not diry like it used to. I then got dressed, and walked out to see Jake and only Jake. He was sitting on the side of the ベッド with a シャツ on-guess Zo gave him a シャツ to slip into-, granoala bar bag empty, glass of water in hand, he was staring down at the floor. Then he looked at me. I guess I made a noise または two exiting the room.
"Hey," Was all he said.
"Hey," I replied, sitting によって him on the bed. "There is some water, soap, rag, and a towel in there if あなた wanna wash up."
"Sure..." He slowly rose to his feet, placing the glass of water on the bedside table. "I'll be back." He then slowly walked into the room I came from, removed his shirt, and closed the door. I sighed, and laid down, waiting for Zo, Jake, and the others.
Sleep overcame me, and took me によって surprise! I was then in a deep sleep, not wanting to wake up even though I was having a possible nightmare. I then gasped, eyes darted open, I looked around the room, darkness. The lights were out, but あなた could still see your way around. I looked around and stopped as I saw a dark figure standing によって the bed.
"Hey, Jake....What happened to the lights?" I asked, sitting up and leaning on my arm. "Jake?"
Nothing came from the figure. "Zo? Rick? Derek?" Nothing, I let my hand reach out and touch the person, and it jumped. Whirreled around and placed its hand over my throat. I was grasping for air! Which, for some reason, was really hard to find even though I took in a huge breath before the hand was against my throat. I grabbed at the arm, trying to pull it away from my throat.
"Hrlp!" I tried to say, but nothing came out. And then, darkness consumed me, and I fell back against the bed...dead!

We all sighed, and looked at the dead Ramens on the ground. "Wow!" Sam 発言しました putting her ナイフ away as she cleaned it off with the arm sleeve of a Ramens jacket. "Bags anyone?"
"Give us half!" Rick 発言しました putting his weapon away.
"Theres only eight, four for us and for you!" Bobby handed two to me and two to Rick. "Be careful."
Sam took a good look at me, smiled, and climbed the 木, ツリー they all dropped from with two back packs on her back.
"Alright. あなた too!" Rick 発言しました and started to walk back towards our shelter.

"Were just leaving? Just like that?" I asked and Rick laughed while nodding.
"You've got alot to learn kid," Rick 発言しました removing the boulders hiding our shelter. "Once theres a fight, and または a kill, もっと見る Ramens come. There just like hornets!"
"What do あなた mean?" I asked.
"Horents are like homing missles! If あなた throw a rock at there nest and dont get out the way, your dead または hurt cause they just zoom out of there nest and fly right where あなた were standing from throwing that rock. Can't beleive あなた didn't know tha-"
"No! I know that, but how are the Ramens just like Hornets?" I re asked.
"If there is a fight, and または a kill, もっと見る Ramens come!" Rick repeated, and it sunk it finally.
"Well okay. But wont they find Bobby and the others?" I asked which made Rick stop.
"What do あなた mean?" He asked.
"Well, the fight was right によって the tree, so wouldn't other Ramens find them up in the tree?" I 発言しました and Rick threw the bags down the stairs, and put the boulders back where he removed them.
"Your right," He looked around, then stared at me. "Lets go!"

I dried my hair, and checked myself in the mirror. Looked tons better then before! My hair looked straighter and not dry! My skin looked shinier and not diry like it used to. I then got dressed, and walked out to see Jake and only Jake. He was sitting on the side of the ベッド with a シャツ on-guess Zo gave him a シャツ to slip into-, granoala bar bag empty, glass of water in hand, he was staring down at the floor. Then he looked at me. I guess I made a noise または two exiting the room.
"Hey," Was all he said.
"Hey," I replied, sitting によって him on the bed. "There is some water, soap, rag, and a towel in there if あなた wanna wash up."
"Sure..." He slowly rose to his feet, placing the glass of water on the bedside table. "I'll be back." He then slowly walked into the room I came from, removed his shirt, and closed the door. I sighed, and laid down, waiting for Zo, Jake, and the others.
Sleep overcame me, and took me によって surprise! I was then in a deep sleep, not wanting to wake up even though I was having a possible nightmare. I then gasped, eyes darted open, I looked around the room, darkness. The lights were out, but あなた could still see your way around. I looked around and stopped as I saw a dark figure standing によって the bed.
"Hey, Jake....What happened to the lights?" I asked, sitting up and leaning on my arm. "Jake?"
Nothing came from the figure. "Zo? Rick? Derek?" Nothing, I let my hand reach out and touch the person, and it jumped. Whirreled around and placed its hand over my throat. I was grasping for air! Which, for some reason, was really hard to find even though I took in a huge breath before the hand was against my throat. I grabbed at the arm, trying to pull it away from my throat.
"Hrlp!" I tried to say, but nothing came out. And then, darkness consumed me, and I fell back against the bed...dead!
