What actually "imprint" means?

I know that's some kinda of print when werewolf is in 愛 for the first time,something like "love at the first sigh"...but what actually?I just don't get it..Is it like some mark,or what?

In a simple sentence... I think it means just Falling In 愛 with The One, who was meant for you, it's not a mark または anything.
