Why did Rosalie carve "Fido" in Jacob's bowl? What does Fido mean?

It's a イヌ name. Probably a common one.
I read the book in my language and there they translated not to Fido, but to a very 人気 イヌ name.

It was a joke.Seeing as jacob is a werewofl.And fido is a common dog name.She carved it in as an insult/joke.
