In twilight, when edward saves bella and sucks out the venom, but he also sucks out blood. Why isn't it when bella wakes up that edward's eyes aren't red?

Because Edward had been a vampire for almost 100 years, and he was immune to the human blood, because he had drank so much animal blood. that's the way I understood it from Breaking Dawn, that newborn ヴァンパイア eyes are red, and then, as they have もっと見る control and don't consume human blood, their eyes turn that topaz color. that's why Bella had to wear contacts after she was changed when she was around humans.

Remember when Bellas eyes were bright red when she was first changed and Edward 発言しました that drinking animal blood would dull the color over time...So I'm guessing that he would probably have to drink alot of human blood over a span of time to make his eye color brighten up to red.
