Edward wouldn't be considered an "eternity of emptienss" in the first place. If あなた 愛 someone あなた wan't to be with them forever right? So Jacob would be worse. Why spend a lifetime with someone あなた don't 愛 when あなた can spend an eternity with someone あなた do love?

Bella loved and choose Edward....how would that be an eternity of emptiness? And even though I like Jacob...what would have happened if Bella choose him...and even though he loved Bella he 'imprinted' on someone else like Sam did? It would kill Jacob because he had such a big heart...he would never have been able to live with himself for having to leave and hurt her that way.
