Chapter 28
The interrogation of a lifetime
“Thank あなた all for coming, I know this is unexpected but my colleague here, Cadence, has just found some new astounding evidence. Cadence?”
“Here,” Cadence stood up and handed him the diary, Jess silently gagged as most of the girl’s (or women) tried to look もっと見る attractive.
“This,” the police held it in the air. “Is a personal data of the victim, Dorothy Loreans, a diary she updated daily until the night she died. Does anyone want to tell us something before we confront you.”
Silence.
“Good, um…Serache, it seems あなた and Dorothy had quite a rough time, huh?”
Serache, who I’ve been refusing to look out because I know once I start I won’t stop, paled. “My, um cousin and her フレンズ weren’t really buddy buddy with me, sir.”
“Is that true…Meredith?”
Meredith clenched her jaw. “Yes, yes, it is, she wasn’t a part of a group, she wasn’t our friend, she hated us and we hated her, easy.”
The cop nodded. “Okay, um…Mr. and Mrs. Loreans, in here your daughter doesn’t seem to like あなた much, it describes here how あなた barely take care of them anymore, is that true?”
Mom and dad looked at each other panicked, clearly shocked. Dad cleared her throat. “Time’s have been tough during that time, it wasn’t neglect, it was just the matter of not enough money.”
The cop cocked his head, narrowing his eyes. “Matter of money? あなた live in a fancy, expensive, house. And in here, it describes how あなた threw this really expensive party for Dorothy’s sweet sixteen, cost もっと見る than a billion of dollars if correct, and her eighteenth birthday cost even もっと見る of that.”
Dad paled, looking furious and mom looked close to tears.
“And your daughter, Destiny, hello,” he continued. “It says in here あなた didn’t even throw her a party, あなた didn’t even get her a present. Not to mention the fact that Dorothy tells us あなた practically kicked her out.”
Dad stood up, throwing his hand violently on the table. “That’s not true!” He roared.
“Oh, is it?” Cadence asked, “what is true Mrs. Loreans?”
Mom looked up, eyes full of tears. “It wasn’t that we didn’t 愛 them, god bless there souls, we do, we really do. We just weren’t ready, we took precautions, we tried. But it didn’t work, we couldn’t give them away, our parents would have our necks!”
Mom turned to me. “I 愛 あなた sweetie, and I’m sorry for not doing a very good job. I’m sorry for not holding you, loving you, soothing you. I just wasn’t ready, Dave-”
“Cindy,” dad warned, and I felt myself shiver at it’s cold tone. “Don’t.”
“I’m not lying! Not to them! I 愛 my daughter’s! I always have. I always will.” Mom looked dad square in the eye, I took her hand, and she looked at me.
I nodded, smiling at her. “Go on.”
“We may not have had a strong 表示する of our love, I was just so angry. I didn’t want any responsibilities, Dave kept saying that we should get rid of them, but I couldn’t. It’s what started most of our fights, we weren’t ready for children then, but if that’s how he thought of あなた guys now, would he change his mind. We started fighting and I couldn’t look at あなた guys without snapping…I’m so sorry.”
Mom broke off crying. “I w-w-as conv-v-vinced that あなた were the c-c--cause of our f-f-fighting! I wanted あなた to feel the p-pain I felt! My parents were just as worse!”
“Mom!” I hug her, trying to calm her down, and her sobbing slowed a bit.
“I’d look at あなた and just see everything in your eyes, me and Dave, broken futures, soon to be broken hearts. I hid from あなた when あなた needed me the most. And when Dorothy died! I felt plagued. I kept on thinking if I tried, would she still be alive. And you, ho my sweet Destiny, when I heard about あなた almost being choked to death, I couldn’t control myself, it was like I was losing あなた to, like I could do nothing to help. I didn’t help Dorothy, and if I had, she would probably be alive.”
Dad snorted. “Dorothy died because of her own foolishness.”
“Shut up!” I yelled, and everyone looked at me shocked. “Just shut up! It’s always us doing something wrong! And never you! If mom could admit her mistakes why can’t you!”
“She’s right Dave, we’ve made so many mistakes, I’m ashamed and I’m sorry. This is all our faults, we’ve ロスト everything we’ve worked for, and then some. It all fell apart!”
Mom cut off sobbing again, and I held her. The police man cleared his throat. “Mr. Loreans, did あなた have anything to do with Dorothy’s death?”
“NO! I did not! I loved her just as much as everybody did!”
The cop nodded. “Because everyone loved Dorothy…” he continued walking, until he stopped によって me. “And not you.”
“What?!”
“You were jealous weren’t you?”
“I didn’t kill her!”
Cadence nods. “Yeah, bud, she didn’t kill her sister, she wouldn’t.”
Officer bud gave him a look. “Just cause she 発言しました she didn’t doesn’t mean it’s true, あなた should know that, don’t let your emotions get in the way of your sense.”
Cadence clenched his jaw, glaring at him.
“What happened to all is innocent until proven guilty?” I asked. “You can’t accuse me, あなた can ask me. And I’m telling you, I didn’t kill her.”
The cop snorted. “Yeah right, the girl who has visions of her dead sister’s memories, things that only Dorothy and the people that were there could know. Didn’t あなた claimed あなた had a vision of Dorothy running in the woods? How would あなた know that, unless あなた were.”
“My visions are true! I didn’t kill her! Just because あなた don’t have strong faith doesn’t mean あなた can accuse me, nothing’s impossible! Those visions were real, I had them, and I’m not crazy.”
“I’ll believe it when あなた have proof.” He stated, 書く something in his journal after a rude glance at me.
I look at his police badge, on it is a small scratch, lucky for me I had excellent observation. I grinned.
“Your badge.”
“What of it?” He didn’t look up from his notes.
“It’s got a scratch on it, that…”, a faded visual of a memory popped up in front of my eyes. “You got from arresting a guy with a knife, that got a small scratch on it, but a big scar on your chest. The ナイフ wasn’t big, but it wasn’t weak, it left ugly marking’s behind it, especially your scar.”
The cop blinks sharply, Cadence winks at me, and Jess is pumping her fist in the air. Mom’s smiling, and dad looks like tomatoes.
“Well…um…lucky…no…I…”
“Aren’t あなた getting it あなた insufferable narcissist,” mom said, glaring at him. “She’s. Psychic.”
Everyone in the room, had there eyes bulging out of there sockets, except Serache who was smirking at me, she nods.

It's sad
It's the truth
Fighting through what it is
But I'll be stronger
I've gone through
Mounds of pain
I've been through
The deepest waters
Nobody can change my past
It's the truth, and it changed me
Sad to even hear the truth
Sad to...say the truth
Reality's always sad
And no one's gonna escape it.
It's how I became who I am today
It's how I didn't brag.
Why does this have to happen?
Why did it have to end?
Why does the world have to be so confusing?
Why did the fun have to end?
The world's just a crazy place
And no one's gonna stop that thought
Cause I'm broken for good...
Because of...the truth.
It's the truth
Fighting through what it is
But I'll be stronger
I've gone through
Mounds of pain
I've been through
The deepest waters
Nobody can change my past
It's the truth, and it changed me

Tell me darling why あなた cry,
Your tears stain the ベッド あなた lay upon
Could it be あなた miss the ones あなた clung to so tight,
Nothing but a scared little fawn
The flames burnt away your past and future,
The hate did nothing but balance your grief
What now? That’s presents question,
Something so fragile like a branch being clung to によって a leaf
Where is your mother little dove?
What happened to those loving others who filled your empty nest?
How many word of the world can あなた rhyme with love?
Perhaps someday we will know with, proper care and rest
When pursuing dreams take chances and strive for nothing less than best
Then only then can あなた be sure you’ve completed life’s most demanding quest
Your tears stain the ベッド あなた lay upon
Could it be あなた miss the ones あなた clung to so tight,
Nothing but a scared little fawn
The flames burnt away your past and future,
The hate did nothing but balance your grief
What now? That’s presents question,

Then only then can あなた be sure you’ve completed life’s most demanding quest
Soar, soar
Soar beyond your wildest dreams.....
There's no limit
On how much あなた can soar
No one can
Break your wings and kill you
Soar for the skies,
Don't let the feelin go
Just soar, soar like never before
No one's gonna stop you
From believin
There wasn't a time
When nobody could never soar
But there was a time
When people never believed
And tomorrow
Isn't the 日 to fall
And nobody's gonna push あなた down
Oh almighty eagle
We're gonna be the powerful eagles
We're not gonna let anyone
Be our ruler,
We're not anyone's slave
Almighty eagle
Oh soar, soar towards the sky's height
And soar toward your dream
Let nothing keep あなた away
Almighty eagle
Soar beyond your wildest dreams
And we're gonna fly tonight
Let nobody keep us down.
Life can be hard. Especially for me, Lily West, your almost-average 16-year-old girl. Most people think it's weird I'm bald. Others think I'm going to die. Then there's the occasional person who tries to take pity upon me. I'd rather they not, because some say it like I'm a helpless little カメ on its back. Sometimes I wish I die already, and sometimes I wish that I was a completely different person. Yes, it's tough having cancer. I just wish that they would respect me for a person instead of a helpless little bug.
I stood によって you,
Ever so proudly,
In the darkness of war,
Never betraying you,
Always によって your side.
I protected you,
Never let あなた down when
Things got rough,
I stood によって you
Through 日 and night,
Summer and winter.
Stand によって me now,
Be my loyal friend,
Never falter when the Fuhrer
Shoots his nasty gaze down at you.
Be strong,
My faithful friend.
Be strong,
And protect me from the evils
Of the world.
Be strong,
Never falter,
And always have courage.
Go now, my faithful friend.
Run free.
Ever so proudly,
In the darkness of war,
Never betraying you,
Always によって your side.
I protected you,
Never let あなた down when
Things got rough,
I stood によって you
Through 日 and night,
Summer and winter.
Stand によって me now,
Be my loyal friend,
Never falter when the Fuhrer
Shoots his nasty gaze down at you.
Be strong,
My faithful friend.
Be strong,
And protect me from the evils
Of the world.
Be strong,
Never falter,
And always have courage.
Go now, my faithful friend.
Run free.
