Chapter 3


Juliet muffled her scream as she saw what was standing on the other side of the door. It was Phil, but not any Phil she had ever seen. Phil’s skin was black and bubbling, steam was being emitted from what used to be his skin, his pupils were gone, and he was giving off an awful odor, even worse than the cigarettes. He wasn’t looking her way so she dived behind the bar. “Oh my god, oh my god, OH MY GOD!” She clamped her mouth shut as her whispering rose to a shout. There was a grunt from the other side of the door and she heard a rattling noise as he beat on the door, trying to get in. Juliet shook from fear. What on earth was happening!? What happened to Phil? What happened to her father? What happened to everyone!? Juliet gasped. Wait, what about her mother and brother? She looked around, there had to be a way out without being spotted. She noticed the 12 gauge shotgun that Phil owned and grabbed it. She couldn’t possibly use this, could she? It might be the only way to get out of here alive, but could she really shoot Phil? No way! She could never do that! The pounding on the stopped for a moment, then in one loud bang, Phil knocked the door flat off it’s hinges. The door hit the bar and broke in half, one half falling in front of Juliet. She squealed unintentionally and Phil’s head shot in her direction. His only reaction was to grunt and walk slowly towards the bar. Juliet shook. There was no other way. She had to shoot! She gulped, took one last look at the splintered door at her feet and stood up, pointing the gun at Phil, who didn’t stop. “Sorry…” Juliet cocked the gun, aimed, and fired. The gun made a clicking noise as it failed to fire, because there were no bullets. “Damn あなた Phil!” Juliet leaped over the 表, テーブル as he lunged at her and ran out the door. “Probably shoulda done that in the first place…” Juliet thought as she ran out and through the empty street. She could hear the sound of Phil chasing after her at full speed. So much for slow zombies. She ran as fast as she could go, too scared to look back. There was no way she was going to die now! The opened her mouth to bite what she thought was Phil and noticed four things. First was that possibly every town member was congregated at her house, including her mother and brother. 秒 was that whatever was affecting Phil was affecting everyone else in the same way, including her mother and brother. Third was that the hand she thought was Phil’s was actually someone else’s. Lastly, she noticed that the hand keeping her silent was human! It was a white, slightly tanned, hand! It wasn’t black and bubbly, there was no steam coming from it, and it didn’t stink! Whoever was holding her wasn’t affected によって whatever it was that did this! This person was possibly her only hope!
