The lampost was not planted to keep Jadis out of Narnia. It sprouted when she threw a bar of iron on the ground when the world was trumming to Aslan's song. Polly, Digory, and Fledge are sent to repair the evil that has entered the new world. They fly west, towards the garden on 上, ページのトップへ of a hill, to fetch an uneaten apple. Digory goes in alone. Inside, he meets Jadis, who tells him that Aslan only wants the 林檎, アップル for himself. She eats an 林檎, アップル while she tells him that the 林檎, アップル can make his mother well. Aslan never ate a bite of that apple. Instead, he had Digory throw it towards a riverbank. While they waited for the 木, ツリー to grow, the 動物 crowned Frank and Helen as the first rulers of Narnia.
Afterwards, Aslan tells Digory to take an 林檎, アップル from this new 木, ツリー back to his mother. Only while the 木, ツリー flourishes will Narnia be safe. The witch is far to the north, growing stronger in her dark power.
In England, Digory makes his mother well with the apple. He then plants the core in the garden. The 木, ツリー that grows there responds exactly as the Narnia 木, ツリー does. Later, the English 木, ツリー is cut down to make the wardrobe in which the Pevensies will later have their adventures, as the wood of the 木, ツリー longs to be back in Narnia.
