RINGO'S POINT OF VIEW
November 29th, 2001
The 日 I ロスト the 愛 of my life. Forever.
One of the last times I saw him was July. My daughter had brain surgery and I could't stay long. "Do あなた want me to come with you?" George offered. "What? No, あなた can't. You've got to stay here and get rid of the cancer." I can't believe I 発言しました a thing like that. "So? I've missed you. I don't want あなた to have to leave me." I was most likely blushing when he grabbed my hand.
"Ritchie, I need to tell あなた something." He sat up. I got scared and just walked out. That was a mistake. Me, George, and Paul went out for lunch. I didn't say a word to him. About four months later I received a letter.
"Richard,
I am dying. The cancer has spread to my lungs, and my brain. This might be the last time I get to talk to you. It really hurt my feelings when あなた ran out of the hospital that day. But I understand I scared you. I still have to tell あなた something and I guess I have to tell あなた through this letter.
I 愛 you, Ritchie. I 愛 あなた so much. I needed あなた to know I'm sorry. But my time has come. I'm ready to die. I'll miss you. Look for me when your gone. Thank あなた for all あなた have done. For being an amazing drummer, and a out standing friend, thank you. For everything.
Love,
George"
I dropped the letter. "I-I. Oh my God." I tried to get there as fast as I could. It took two days to get there. "George, George!"
"You made it." he said. "Today is my last."
"No! あなた can't die, あなた can't! You're the youngest. It wasn't meant to be like this!"
He looked at me. "Make me happy one もっと見る time." I understood. We had our first, yet our last kiss. "Just promise me one thing."
"Anything, anything for you!"
"Wait... for me" Then he closed his eyes. For good.
I miss him もっと見る and もっと見る each day. But I've still kept going. For him. And I know my time is soon, getting closer each passing day, and I'll see him again.
That is the power of love.
