Not Your Typical Country Girl Chapter Four
I sat there for a while looking at the horse. The horse was very pretty. She was all black except for her hair; it is a silver blonde color. I could name her Midnight または something like that. She is as black as night and her hair is as bright as the moon.
"Do あなた like her," Tucker asked curiously as he sipped on some sweet tea.
"Yeah, she is beautiful," I exclaimed.
"Have あなた came up with name," he asked curiously.
"No, not yet! But I am close to figuring one out," I stated, "maybe あなた could help?"
"Sure; tell me what あなた came up with," he said.
"Well, she is as dark as midnight but her hair is as bright as the moon," I stated, "I thought about Midnight または something like that!"
"Midnight is a good name," Tucker said, "what is wrong with that?"
"Aren't all 馬 that are black named Midnight," I asked.
"No, not really," he shrugged, "What about Midnight Moon?"
"I like it," I stated smiling.
"Me too; that sounds like a good name for a horse," Abigail stated, "would あなた like to go shopping?"
"I have clothes," I shrugged.
"Do あなた have any dresses," she asked oddly.
"Nope, I do not own a single one," I stated almost proud.
"Why not," Tucker asked curious.
"I have never had a need for one," I said, "I lived in a orphanage our nicest clothes were our outfits when someone was coming to pick us up."
"Would あなた like to go shopping for dresses and skirts," Abigail asked hopeful.
"When would I wear one around here," I asked, "would I not wear pants to work in?"
"Of course あなた can wear pants to work in," she 発言しました laughing a little, "but ladies wear skirts and dresses to church!"
"Church," I blurted out on accident, "sorry, I didn't mean for it come out that way! But church; I am not the type of person for church! Just look at me!"
"Wait, あなた mean あなた do not go to church," Tucker 発言しました as he butted in.
"Yes, Harmony, I would like for あなた to go to church with the family," she said.
"I don't know about that," I 発言しました skeptical, "I have never been church! Why start now?!"
"Because あなた need to get saved," he said.
"Tucker, could あなた please get back to your job," I snapped.
"Yes ma'am, I am sorry," he 発言しました a bit sarcastic.
"He is only trying to help! Yes, あなた will go to church with us tonight," Abigail, "so we better get on our way to the shops."
I groaned as I followed Abigail up to the house. I did not want to wear a dress または a skirt! Much less go to church! I mean what is so special about this 'church'?! I really did not want to go to church; I am living in a new house with new people. I am a little worried about meeting the whole town. What is everyone going to this of me? Are they going to think I am some devil worshiper just because I wear a lot of black?
I went and sat in the truck as Abigail went inside and grabbed her stuff. I did not have a thing to go shopping with. I did not have any money to buy anything.
"Abigail," I 発言しました as she climbed into the drivers シート, 座席 of the truck, "I do not have any money to go shopping for clothes."
"Harmony, Bryce and I will buy your clothes for you. あなた are family now," she said.
"Okay," I shrugged, "thank you."
We arrived at the little strip mall in the town. Abigail was stopping at every other store talking to someone she knew and of course, introducing mento everyone. It was very odd and embarrassing. I did not know a soul on this town and all the sudden I was meeting everyone.
We went in shops and there wasn't very many places that carried full black dresses または shirts. Everything had a print on it. I wanted just something black.
"What about this," Abigail asked as she held up a black lacy dress.
"That is kind of pretty," I stated.
"I think it will look lovely on you," she smiled, "so what do あなた think of the family?"
"The boys seems nice," I shrugged, "I am just going to have to get use to it!"
"Of course it will take time getting use to everything," she said, "it is a completely new environment for you!"
"Yeah, no kidding," I 発言しました laughing.
"What do あなた think about Tucker," she asked as she stopped what she was doing.
"Umm, I guess he is nice," I shrugged as I was not sure what I was suppose to say.
"Oh, she has met Tucker already," some lady asked.
"Yes ma'am she has," Abigail smiled brightly.
"Oh, that could be a match made in heaven right there," the lady said.
"Excuse me," I 発言しました confused, "me and Tucker?!"
"Sure, why not," she asked.
"Eh, he is not my type," I stated.
"Well, if your type is not country boys, then あなた best change your type," the lady said.
"Oh do not worry Mrs. Jones, she will come around," Abigail 発言しました as she started looking back on the racks.
"Wow," I muttered to myself.
I could not believe that lady just 発言しました something to me; especially, something like that!
After shopping me and Abigail went ホーム and prepared ディナー for the family. That sounds so odd! The family; my family, または my step family? What exactly would I call them?
After dinner, I put on my dress and finished getting ready for church this was going to be an odd night. I had never experienced anything like this before. Today had a lot of new and bizarre things in it. I came from my bedroom and all the boys were watching tv in the living room. I think everyone was a little surprised to see me in a dress. I know I was surprised によって how I looked.
Church was not all that bad. I saw Tucker a couple of times look at me oddly. So I guess he was not expecting me to give into wearing a dress to church. I think that he thought I would not come. I would find some way to get out of it. But I did not. After church everyone went to their rooms. I looked down the hall way and everyone's light was turned off. I guess it was bedtime. So I turned my light off and tried to get some sleep. But it was odd sleeping in this old room によって myself. It was so big and the house kept making noises, scary noises that is! Hopefully, I could catch some sleep before they woke me up!
