is sarafina the sister of sarabi または are they フレンズ this has been bugging me since the first movie

I believe they're just friends. It would be very pretty awkward if Simba and Nala are cousins in that case. Sarabi and Sarafina are no where related, they're just フレンズ and nothing else.
