Ukyo might be better than the other two, but she seems more like a sister to him, and no one else really suits Ranma better than Akane, or fits with him at all.

However, Ukyo and Shampoo are better picks than Kodachi.

I think Uchan is more of a sister to Ranma, but she is the next best option, I guess.

I'm still firm with my stance of siding with the original cannon couple though. The only girl I can really picture Ranma in any sorta romance with is Akane.

If Akane is not exist, I would prefer Shan Pu more than Ukyo or Kodachi. Because I think Ranma doesn't look at Ukyo more than friend and Ranma totally dislike Kodachi. And Ranma have sort of mixed feeling for Shan Pu :)

i think the mixed feeling might have more to do with her Shampoo's body really.
I only like Ranma and Akane, trying to come up with an answer for this question felt like a knife to the gut, but I managed to settle on something, even though I don't see anything happening between Ranma or any of the girls listed above. If we were looking at him in his 20's there maybe a possibility of a short lived affair, and I highly doubt the relationship would last or go beyond a PHYSICAL relationship. Not something I see as a love affair, more like a sexual relationship, and Shampoo would have a better chance at scorin that.
As for an real couple with love and all that. NONE.

I don't like either choice, but Ukyo is more like a sister to him. Ukyo and Ranma seem too much like incest. I don't think anyone other than Akane is suited for Ranma, but its easier for me to see Ranma having atleast dating Shampoo than Ukyo. Even if its a temporary relationship. Ranma and Ukyo just don't fit as a couple.

i really didn't think either ukyo or shampoo are all that good candidates.

I mean u-chan might love the ran-chan she knew in the past, but lets be honest, none of use are really the same person we were when we were kids; rather than really getting to know the person ranma is now, I think ukyo assumes to already know him based on who he was as a child and she often uses her status as his CHILDHOOD friend to manipulate him or make ranma feel guilty about what's happened to her, even though it was her choice to give up her life as a woman just because kids were picking on her. Akane was a bit of a tomboy too, and had trouble with others when she was little, but she never decided to give up and be a boy, mostly I think she was working to prove others wrong, that and she wanted Dr. Tofu to see her as a woman, even though she knew he loved her sister, she tried harder, rather than give up and resort to seeking revenge.

Shampoo, I think, also seemed to SUDDENLY fall for ranma.

Ranma beats Shampoo as a guy and.... " wo ai ni"

Ranma tells ukyo she's cute and would make a guy a great wife someday and suddenly ....

The relations ship bond between ranma and akane was fairly quick, but the romance was a slow progressing one, but real, and it wasn't due to shallow reasons like what made ukyo and shampoo start chasing ranma.

Thought none of the choices suit my fancy, Shampoo has a better chance of getting to know the person Ranma is now and love him for that because she's not stuck in the past . Ranma and Ukyo were childhood friends, but that's a 10 year gap without any contact and yet u-chan still seems to assumes she already knows ranma better than any of the other girls, when really she only knows who he was, and that doesn't really help much in building a present day relationship, after all, you see friends drift apart all the time. Not because of a fight or a Big fall out, you just drift apart. like elementary to middle school, middle school to high school, high school to college. To be honest there are many times Ranma and Ukyo's real interests and desires seem to lead 2 totally different paths. They could always be friends, but I think Akane and Shampoo share closer interest and desires with each other and ranma than u-chan does, and kodachi is just a NO, don't even mention her, the answer is too obvious.

None really. Even without Akane I don't think Ranma would have a "successful" romantic relationship with any of the others.
I just chose Shampoo because she's and a dedicated fighter, but none of them are really suited for Ranma. Shampoo, I think is closer because, like Akane, she's loves martial arts. Kodachi is crazy, and Ukyo mostly wants to run her restaurant and has this fantasy life that just didn't really suit Ranma.
The biggest problem with Shampoo and Ukyo, I'm not even considering Kodachi, is they both have plans and dreams which Ranma is the Key to achieving that. They don't really think about his happiness, or what he wants, they just assume he'd be happy if he's with her, if he chooses her she'll make him happy blah blah blah. It doesn't matter to any what Ranma really wants all they care about is having him so they can live this happy life they dreamt up in their heads and apparently Ranma should be happy just making her happy.
However, unfortunately for Shampoo, Ukyo, and yes Kodachi, it doesn't work that way. Akane is the only girl who doesn't want to use Ranma JUST to achieve her future happiness. She's the only one who seems to care about what he wants or what will make him happy in the long run.
So even without Akane in the competition, I don't think Shampoo, Ukyo, or Kodachi is suited for ranma at all; nor do I think he could have a successful relationship with them. Even if he got married to one of them; it'd probably end in divorce or some sort of betrayal. The reality is; it just wouldn't work out, and no matter what someone's going to end up hurt.

Shampoo would be better, but she really should marry Mousse, and if Ranma marrys shampoo, he'll become her slave, but anyway, I don't think Ranma could have a relationship if it wasn't with Akane.

i don't either. Shampoo and Ranma seem to have closer interests, but who knows what'll happen if shampoo managed to drag ranma back to her tribe in china.

Akane is really the only GOOD choice there is. Ukyo dedicates her life to cooking, and even if she puts a good meal on the table, I don't see ranma being satisfied with ukyo if he chose to marry her and live the life she wanted. There'd always be something missing and I can't see ranma being truly happy with her.

I picked Shampoo, not as some one I thought a love interest for Ranma, but as a ally when they want the same thing. Both can be sneaky and sly. Like when Ryoga had that water proof soap.
So, "who do you think is better with Ranma?"
I was answering who I thought, other than akane, worked better with Ranma, and as long as they are after the same thing, or in trouble. If I was Ranma, and if I was in a situation where I needed someone to back me up, and Akane was not an option, then I'd want Shampoo to have my back. Moslty because Uchan is a martial artist, but its martial arts cooking. Shampoo and Akane are Warriors, not just martial artist.
