This is not news I want to share with あなた all. This is not news I ever wanted to share, but Roxy passed away on March 6, 2019 around 7:00 in the morning. I never expected this so soon.
Roxy had recently been 表示中 signs of being sick. The vet determined that she had kidney failure. She also had cancer in one of her kidneys. The vet 発言しました that it could be removed, but the problem was there is no local vet who does that kind of surgery. The nearest veterinary surgeon is five hours away. That kind of trip would've been too hard on Roxy. The vet also 発言しました that removing that kidney would not prevent her from having to eventually go on dialysis. I don't want to remember sweet Roxy hooked to a machine. I'd rather remember that bouncy Staffordshire ブル テリア going bonkers when we first got Roscoe, the motherly dog who took care of River, and the dog who protected my aunt when she had her appendix removed.
This isn't the first dog I've lost. I have been through this four times before, but it never gets easier. The loss of a beloved pet is not something one "gets over". The individual just learns to deal with life without that beloved pet. I have to learn to go on with life without Roxy. I loved her very much, and I miss her. I'll always miss her, but I know that I have to keep on living. I have great フレンズ like RocknRollSoul60 (Paul) and 60smusicluv (Jan). I also made wonderful フレンズ here. I know I have so much support. Paul was with me when Roxy was euthanized. He told me that he felt he needed to be with me for support. She went very peacefully, and she's not sick anymore. She's playing with her best friend, my Rottweiler, Stone, who passed away last year.
I will assure あなた that I'm not going to disappear. I'm not going anywhere. I'll also tell あなた that River and Roscoe are doing okay. They are mourning the loss of their matriarch, but they don't seem depressed. I think what helps is they have each other. They also have a friend in Paul's dog, Piper, and Jan's dog, Specs.
Run free, Roxy. I 愛 you.
