As time passed since Shadow's passing, Janis got something she had been waiting for, the results from Shadow and Juneau's DNA tests. The test kits arrived when everything was still all right. She didn't order one for Stevie, because Stevie's original owner had papers to prove she was a Staffordshire ブル Terrier. He had to give her up, because he was moving to a place that didn't allow dogs. Again, that's another story. Where Shadow and Juneau were both rescues, Janis wasn't sure if they were purebred dogs. She read the results, and she learned that Shadow was a purebred Rottweiler. She also learned that Juneau was a purebred Siberian Husky. Janis later talked with her friends. She said, "I know that Shadow was a purebred Rottweiler. I figured that he was. He looked like one. He acted like one." Simon said, "Still, whether he was purebred または not, he was special to you." She said, "Of course he was! He was a wonderful dog. I'll never forget him." Kelsey asked, "Will あなた be getting a new dog?" Janis said, "I will get a new dog some day, but I want to grieve Shadow a little longer. I also want to give Stevie and Juneau もっと見る time. One day, I'll go to a rescue center, find a dog that needs a home, and bring him または her ホーム with me." She smiled at the thought. Although the イヌ she had ロスト in the past few years were special to her, she knew that her 次 dog would be special in his または her own way. In the late spring, she went to a rescue center and found a red and white Siberian Husky puppy. His name was Aspen, which happens to be the name of a town in the state of Colorado. She introduced her new dog to Stevie and Juneau, and they got along very well. All was well once again.

Farewell, My Childhood
It was July 22, 1983. I will never forget that 日付 as long as I live. It was perhaps the worst 日 of my life, the 日 I had to キッス my childhood goodbye. I visited with my grandparents that day. I really enjoyed hanging out with them. My mother took my sisters on a shopping spree. My father had to work. I was twelve, and my father didn't trust me at ホーム によって myself. I asked to stay with my grandparents until after dinner. My father picked me up to take me home. Along the way, a truck ran a red light and hit the car. It happened so quickly, but I remember it so vividly....

A ギター and the Two Beatles
December 8, 1980 was a 日付 that I will never forget. I had been to an event with the school band. My father and I were heading home. It was late at night, and we were listening to the radio. I will never forget the news. John Lennon had been shot and killed. My father tried to hide it, but he couldn't help it. He just had to cry. I asked, "Father, was he your friend?" My father dried his tears and said, "No, son, I never met him. I only knew of him. He was a member of the British band, the Beatles." I was curious and asked him to tell me more. He told me about how...

Gaining Friends
As time passed, I still hadn't made any friends. Even in church, other kids bullied me. One day, some of the other kids in church were physically bullying me. I then heard a big, booming voice say, "Stop that right now! Would ジーザス do such a thing?" The other kids ran away, and I got up. There was a man standing there. He was not particularly skinny または stout. He was clean shaven and had short hair, even shorter than my father's. He wasn't particularly short または tall. He appeared to be around sixty-two または sixty-three. He had dark, brown eyes and pepper gray hair. He had a deep...

Introduction
It was John Wilde's forty-fifth birthday. He wanted a small celebration with his band mates and with Grace and her aunt and uncle, whom he considered his family. John said, "I can't believe I'm forty-five." Allen said, "I know. What's nice is your life is so different now than what it was in the beginning." John said, "Yeah." Grace said, "I know あなた went through some rough times, but how different was it?" John was hesitant to tell her. He never shared things like that with his fans. Peter said, "John, Grace is part of your family now. I think you're 安全, 安全です with her, mate." Allen...

It was summer. Erin, Paul, Carl, and Lola went back ホーム for the summer. One day, the four フレンズ had a ギグ in a neighboring town. The 次 morning, they ate breakfast at a local restaurant. Two men walked up to them. One of them said, "You're New Religion. We saw your コンサート last night. We were quite impressed." Erin said, "We're glad あなた enjoyed it." Paul asked, "What was your お気に入り song?" The man said, "I have to say 'Fresh Fritz Beats'. Fritz playing the drums with his tail was quite adorable." The other man spoke up and said, "Allow us to introduce ourselves. I'm Mark, and this is...

During the 秒 semester of their first 年 of college, the members of New Religion moved to a pet friendly apartment that all four of them could share. It just seemed better that way, because for one thing, they were all very close, and for another thing, Erin and Lola would no longer have that horrible roommate with her awful boyfriends. One afternoon, Erin was strumming on her guitar. Fritz started barking, and Erin went to see what was wrong. Paul had returned from his afternoon class. He did not look like himself at all. Erin said, "Paul, あなた look terrible." He said, "Define terrible."...

After high school was over, the members of New Religion went to college and majored in music. Even though it was cheaper to live in the college dorms, pets were NOT allowed on campus, so Erin chose to live in an apartment, so that she could bring Fritz along. After all, Fritz was important to the entire band. Lola agreed to share the apartment with Erin. Paul and Carl got one, too. Luckily for the boys, they ended up with a really polite roommate. Erin and Lola, however, ended up with a roommate who wasn't very polite. She had numerous boyfriends, and it seemed every time Erin blinked, that...

Sometime after the incident, Erin learned that Phil was put in jail. She was glad that justice was served. Her injuries healed up, and she started her last 年 of high school. One day, Paul asked, "Can あなた believe this is our last 年 of high school?" Carl said, "No, I can't." Lola said, "Me neither." Erin said, "I'm actually kinda glad for that. I'm certainly not going to miss it." Paul said, "Me neither." The foursome had grown closer since Erin got shot. Paul was already close to Erin, but he became closer than ever to her after she had taken a bullet for him. When winter came, there was...

One night, Erin was walking downtown with her band mates and her new dog, Fritz. Suddenly, a boy of a similar age stepped out of the shadows. Erin instantly recognized him. She said, "Hello, Phil." Phil said, "Erin, I never thought I'd see あなた again. You're too busy hanging with this Paul guy." She said, "For your information, we happen to be best フレンズ and band mates." Phil sneered, "Yeah. He's the one who got あなた into this devil music." She said, "Paul didn't get me into it. I got into it on my own, and I highly doubt it's devil music, because it brought me and my フレンズ together, and...

Months had passed, and it was summer once again. One day, Erin and Paul went for a walk in the forest with Paul's dogs. As they were walking, they heard whimpering sounds. Erin asked, "Paul, is that one of your dogs?" Paul checked his イヌ and said, "No, I don't think so." Just then, they saw a 子犬 limping toward them. The 子犬 had medium-length, honey-colored 毛皮 and big, brown eyes. The 子犬 sat down at Erin's feet and looked up at her. Paul said, "I think he likes you." Erin asked, "How do あなた know it's a boy?" Paul smiled and said, "There are ways." Erin got down to the puppy's level...

After looking at a 一覧 of what they could call their newly formed band, Erin, Paul, Carl, and Lola finally settled on New Religion, because Erin 発言しました that 音楽 was her religion now. Paul suggested using his YouTube account to get their names out there. For their first video, they performed Erin's song, "Broken and Mended". For their 秒 one, they did a cover of the Bad Religion song, "Faith Alone". Erin really connected to these lyrics.

A couple of months passed, and one day, Erin, Paul and Carl got invited to a party によって their classmate, Lola. Lola had spoken to them some after class, and she seemed nice enough. Still, something was odd to them. Carl said, "I'm curious. Why did she invite us to her party? Isn't she one of the 人気 girls?" Paul said, "I don't know. It seems like it. I mean, she's always hanging out with the 人気 girls." Erin said, "Yes, she is. I wonder if this is a scam, または maybe she's just being nice?" Carl said, "Let's hope she's being nice." On the 日 of the party, the three フレンズ arrived early....

September came, and when Erin and Paul weren't busy with their studies, they were playing 音楽 together または listening to music. One day, the two フレンズ were listening to the Beatles. The usually talked while listening, but this time, neither of them spoke. Paul finally broke the silence and said, "Erin, I've been thinking about it, and I think we should start a band." Erin said, "I've been thinking about it, too, Paul." He said, "We both know how to play guitar, and we can both sing. That's a start. We just need someone who can play ベース and someone who can play drums." She said, "Yes, that's...

It was August, and Erin and her フレンズ started the eleventh grade. Erin wasn't sure if she would enjoy her classes except for English. It was her last class of the day. The only friend she had in the class was Paul. When she sat down beside of him, the teacher said, "You two aren't boyfriend and girlfriend, are you?" Paul replied, "No, we're just really good friends." Erin nodded. The teacher said, "Okay, then. I usually don't like having couples sit together, because the last couple I had in my class caused a lot of unnecessary drama, if あなた know what I mean." A few moments later, she talked...

One day, Erin's dog, Rusty, had an accident on the back porch. Erin sighed as she cleaned up the mess. This had been a common occurrence for the past couple of months. It was mid-July, and Rusty had turned fifteen in the middle of April. Fifteen is old for a dog, especially a collie, because a collie's average lifespan is eleven to thirteen years. Sometime later, Paul called her and invited her to his house to play guitar. After playing ギター for a while, Paul suggested going for a walk outside. His dogs, Yukon and Nunavut, went with them. Yukon and Nunavut were both Siberian Huskies, considerably...

One day, Erin and Paul had a major disagreement. Pretty soon, it got really ugly. Erin pretended she needed to use the restroom so that she could cry. When she came out, Allie said, "Erin, you've been in there a long time. Are あなた okay?" Erin said, "No, I'm not." Allie asked, "What happened?" Erin said, "Paul and I got into an argument." Allie said, "Oh, no. I'm so sorry. What were あなた two arguing about?" Erin said, "I don't want to talk about it." Then, she walked away. It was an awful feeling, arguing with her best friend. She had to make up with him. She just had to! She couldn't lose her...

Several months passed. Erin and her フレンズ were now in the tenth grade. They were used to the high school environment によって then. The bullying certainly didn't go away. One day, one of the bullies put a kick me sign on Paul's back. Erin saw that. She cleared her throat. One of the bullies said, "She's got a facial scar. We probably shouldn't mess with her." Another one of the bullies said, "Yeah. She looks totally evil." They ran off. Paul said, "Thanks, Erin." She smiled and took the kick me sign off his back. She then said, "You know I wouldn't hurt a fly." He said, "Yes, I know. They don't...

One day, Erin did not wake up when her alarm went off. Her aunt came into her bedroom to check on her. Erin was awake, but she was shivering. She 発言しました to her aunt, "I don't feel well at all." Her aunt said, "You sound like you're stuffed up." Erin was feverish. Her aunt said, "I think あなた need to see a doctor." The doctor diagnosed it as sinusitis. It was probably a result of her allergies to ragweed pollen. Ragweed had been in bloom, and its pollen was spreading about the area. Erin's doctor told her to get plenty of rest and take some medication for her symptoms. Later that day, her friends,...
