Yes, and no. I think Lucas' relationship with Lindsey was pointless. But the triangle storyline itself served a big purpose. It just further proved to us that LP are meant to be, and that no one can come between them ;)

I think both the triangle and Lucas & Lindsey's relationship served a purpose. I think the most obvious one was that it was supposed to be an obstacle for Lucas & Peyton to overcome. I also think it was supposed to provide entertainment which is the point of everything on television. And it was there to show just how much time had passed, how Lucas had moved on (or thought he had), and how much things had changed in the 4 years that passed between seasons 4 and 5.

But i didn´t like it though

I think it was a really good storyline :) But pointless in the sense that LP were going to get back together anyway. There are also unresolved issues in season 6 between leyton about the whole lindsey thing that I really wish they'd have addressed :\

It's point was to annoy me and make me appreciate leyton when they got back together. :)
