When we go see an action-adventure film, not many people put much thought into what goes into creating those thrilling action sequences. On that same note, not many actors actually perform those dangerous stunts; they leave it up to highly trained stuntmen/women. Finding actors who are willing and able to perform their own stunts is no easy task, which makes the very talented Joe Manganiello a hot commodity in the biz.

After graduating from Carnegie Mellon 大学 with a degree in drama, one of the first roles Joe landed a role playing Flash Thompson in the blockbuster film Spider-Man. From that point on, he has landed role after role on some of television's hottest shows, he's appeared in several films as both an actor and stuntman, and is very active in the theater community.

I had the opportunity to speak with this talented and incredibly intelligent actor about how he got started in the business, the dangers of stunt work, and his recurring roles on One 木, ツリー 丘, ヒル and How I Met Your Mother.

Q: When did あなた decide to pursue acting?

Joe: "I played football, バスケットボール, バスケット ボール and バレーボール i high school. I was injured when I was returning the kickoff in a football game against Joe Montana's old high school. It was a muddy, rainy night and my cleat got stuck in the mud and I tore my MCL. It made me start thinking about what I wanted to do with my life and I realized that pursuing a career in football was not a high priority.

That injury forced me to realize what I really should be doing. I think 芝居 is a perfect job for someone like me who has a lot of different skills in very different areas. As a kid, I was always artistic and involved in art in some way, and having that artistic outlet is important as well."

Q: What was the worst (non-acting) job あなた ever had?

Joe: "I only worked it one 日 -- I studied for weeks to become a golf caddy and the first 日 of work, I woke up at 4:30 in the morning to be on the course at 6 and I sat there for about 6 hours. Finally, some guy came along and needed a caddy for 9 holes. I got a couple of bucks and a Snickers bar and I never went back."

Q: Did あなた have to go to a special school for stunt work?

Joe: "No. When my stunts are listed on IMDB, it's just the fact that I'm an athletic actor. I do as much as they let me do without getting killed. I do stuff that's borderline; it's like an athletic puzzle, または a really crazy carnival game あなた have to figure out."

Q: Have あなた ever been injured doing stunt work?

Joe: "Sure. We had a four-episode arc for One 木, ツリー 丘, ヒル where I had to learn to play the sport slamball, which is バスケットボール, バスケット ボール on a trampoline. Me and James Lafferty were the two actors on the 表示する that were picked to do the slamball, so we had a two-week training period with the slamball professionals. I wound up pulling a muscle 次 to my spine, but I thought I had a cracked vertebrae and had to get an MRI. I sat out for a week, got some massages and got back in there."

Q: Do あなた do your own stunts?

Joe: "I've worked with the same stuntman for the last 8 years. His name is Oliver Keller, he's from Switzerland and he's awesome! He's really good at deciding what I should and shouldn't do, so there's a lot of thought that goes into it. He's on set for the stunts that I will do. Obviously, it's a lot easier if I do my own stunts because it's going to be better for the filming. I recently started skydiving, so I've been hoping that I'll get cast in a movie like Point Break, where we can actually do a scene while we're falling in the air."

Q: あなた play a recurring role on One 木, ツリー Hill, do あなた plan on playing a もっと見る permanent role now that Chad and Hilarie are leaving the show?

Joe: "That would be up to them (TPTB). I'm involved in other projects, but I 愛 that 表示する and if Mark Schwahn (the creator) asked, I would 愛 to come back."

Q: You've had an incredible amount of guest starring roles on television, which has been your お気に入り role?

Joe: "Honestly, my お気に入り roles are the ones I get to do on stage. I got to play Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire, which has been my dream since I started acting. I loved my character on How I Met Your Mother. That 表示する is so funny. I had so much fun doing that show, it's ridiculous."

Q: Which 表示する has the best cast to work with?

Joe: "Because of the nature of the show, I'd have to say How I Met Your Mother. あなた 表示する up everyday for work and try to crack each other up. It's the best job あなた can possibly get, あなた laugh all day, あなた go ホーム laughing and when あなた get home, あなた think about all the stuff あなた did that 日 and あなた start laughing all over again. あなた can't beat that."

Q: Do あなた have any projects in the works?

Joe: "I'm currently in rehearsals for a play with a playwright named Terrence McNally (a legendary American playwright), and I'm going to be in his new play. I just got back from New York after spending two weeks rehearsing with the cast and crew. The cast is 驚異 -- everyone in this cast has multiple Emmys, multiple Tonys, and the playwright is a Pulitzer Prize nominee. It's a very decorated room full of wonderful artists. The play will run the 月 of June at the La Jolla Playhouse."

Q: Anything to say to the fans?

Joe: "Thank you. This past 年 has been overwhelming in the amount of ファン support. Keep it coming and thanks for paying attention."

In less than 1 日 to the end of what was once my お気に入り show, many feelings invade me. Obviously sadness being what most stands out, the fact of seeing one of the best programs I have ever seen on テレビ leave to never return is heartbreaking, One 木, ツリー 丘, ヒル lived with me for almost 8 years of my life and I think that all the ファン will agree with me that when あなた see a series for so long, especially one as deep as this, from one moment to another it passes from being just a テレビ script to become a part of you.

I was only 9 years old when I came across this wonderful story and although...

If あなた make videos, the best way to tag your 動画 is to use the fanbased names (ie Leyton, OTH etc) and do not use the song's title, または artist unless in the comments.

または if posting scenes from the particular episode just use the terms of "Leyton Scenes" not One 木, ツリー Hill, even the most well versed DISCLAIMER can be overlooked because it all has to do with "re-broadcast" consent.

So I just recently started using this website again. And I haven't 発言しました much about anything lately so I felt to need to talk about something that annoys me this season.

First off so far I am really liking this season. But one thing does bother and it's regarding Nathan. Now I know that Nathan would do anything to get to play バスケットボール, バスケット ボール again but doesn't slamball seem to be too much または is it just me?

I mean at the beginning of last season he was in a wheelchair and now all of a sudden he's playing slam ball. Not that Nathan can't do it, clearly he can but is it just me that finds this to be a...
