I just never really seemed to get what the whole fascination it is with this movie. I will watch occasionally but it is just one of those movies I just love to hate. If you get me.

The strange thing is, I actually like Titanic, I just wish they'd have removed all the Jack/Rose parts & focused on the ship.

Or Titanic! I love the others!

It's crap

I don't find Titanic, LotR, Pride and Prejudice, Pirates of the Caribbean overrated (but I understand why some people do)
Little Miss Sunshine is kind of overrated I guess, but I do like it.
Some of them in general just aren't my taste (e.g. Fight Club) so I can't really say if it's overrated or not because it's just not my kind of movie.

Donnie Darko? I saw it and afterwards was surprised to see that it was widely acknowledged/critically acclaimed because I really didn't like it at all. I didn't expect it to have so many fans.

It's just not that good.

I was kind of bored while watching the 1st one.

Another movie which I think is highly overrated is Avatar!

By Far I hate these Movie.

I don't know, the only ones on the list that I know I like. Especially Titanic... I love that more :)

Just didnt get Donnie Darko at all! Love Fight Club and Lost In Translation though.

I really REALLY hate this movie. I actually loathe and find pretty much all of these overrated except for: Fight Club (it's one of my favourite films off all time, I think it deserved all the publicity it got but that's just my opinion ofc), The Notebook (well...I liked it & I thought it was good but definitely not as good as everyone makes it out to be, but I would agree that it's overrated), Donnie Darko (I liked it but again with The Notebook thing) & LOTR. I grew up with it though, you know the cartoons from like the 70's. My dad used to make me watch them all the time, it was one of the only things we could do together. So naturally, I ended up loving it as I grew up but when I really stop to think about...I don't really understand the whole craze. I think I tied my childhood memories with these films, which is something I never should've done in the first place. So, I'm kinda over the LOTR phase, same with Harry Potter (which you left off your list?....)

My Vote goes to Avatar or Twilight...But since you left those out on your list I've to go with The Lord of The Ring.

none of these Movies on your list are half as Overrated as Avatar, Twilight, Star Wars and Transformers (Forgive my English I am French) I liked Titanic It was a nice Love Story but yet it had nothing to do with the real Titanic but the fact the matter is I find it Interesting it actually had Action in it. (This is all coming from a guy who hate Love Story Movie but with Titanic I can sit through I have no idea why Though!! It‘s not overrated IMO) I think The Notebook is Slightly Overrated and boring to begain with it’s one of the few Movies that put me to sleep. I also hate Donnie Darko, Pride & Prejudice and The Lord of the Rings but the rest Movies are okay Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my Favorite Movie.

To everyone saying Avatar & Twilight, I'd agree too. But I think Twilight is more overrated in the hatred department than the love anyway. People are always trashing it because it's the cool thing, and that is overrated.

Painfully overrated as well, but I think the books are more so than the movies.

Also "The Notebook", "Pride & Prejudice""The Lord of the Rings [all]" and "Pirates of the Caribbean [all]". Pretty good list. You should make a list with the ones Ethaaaan was saying. Those were very overrated movies too.

Lotr, The Notebook and Titanic are perfectly rated. They actually should get more attention.

I love Titanic, it is overrated but I love this movie :D and Requiem for a dream.

I hated The Notebook. I also agree with you on Little Miss Sunshine and The Exorcist; but I have to say that I love Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream and Taxi Driver. They are wonderful films for me, so I disagree. The others are good but not as awesome as the world makes them seem (except Titanic, because I like it; and Lost in Translation, because I have not seen it yet)
