Just the word "queer" when i was 15 years old.
I was playfully teasing a close male friend of mine whilst we were hanging out- he burst into uncontrollable tears.
Two days later he came out to me.
So, yeah...Lesson learnt.
Don't be a bigoted douche.

Just like a majority of my peers at the time, I had the bad habit of going "that's so gay" "Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" and all of that shit. I don't even understand the mindset I was in, I don't think I fully comprehended what gay meant- and I was also being brainwashed by my church and religious family, and never got a "positive" view on what homosexuality was or anything else of the LGBTQ community.

Let's just say I wouldn't dream of saying that crap now.

^ I'm sorry to hear that. Good on you though for doing the right thing and stopping it.
I have a Christian family, and the vicar is openly gay at our church. XD Most Christians nowadays despise the stereotype that they may be chauvinist/homophobic/transphobic, etc.

What does the added Q on "LGBT" stand for?

^Yeah, a few people at our church are becoming more tolerant and accepting. Others not so much.

It stands for queer- which some people use just to make sure nobody is left out when people say LGBT.

I didn't except my trans-gay aunt at first.I told my mom "Me and my friends hate gays."Over time,I've excepted my trans aunt.I then released I was lesbian. When I look back at that statement now I feel stupid now.I don't regret anything because I can't take it back so I just feel right now stupid.

Not homophobic but transphobic, before I knew what I was talking about. Even though I didn't mean any offence I'm still sorry for it. It was due to lack of understanding, which I feel is a big problem for a lot of people.

Yes, but I don't regret it because 1. I was very young and didn't really know what it meant so I wasn't doing it to be rude to someone. 2. It's something I can look back on and say that I've grown as a person. 3. Like trapsexual, I don't really take offense to words. Sort of like how 'queer' was reclaimed.

Of course I won't call people queer who are still uncomfortable with it.
