Back before Jasper had to be untimely put down =[ {seriously, fucking 3 1/2 years old - HE WAS STILL A LITTLE MAN WHO SHOULD HAVE HAD MANY MORE YEARS.} he was lost for like 3 weeks. I did everything i could - went to the shelter multiple times, searched our neighborhood relentlessly, armed with treats to shake in the hopes they would entice him. I spoke with tons of neighbors, anyone that knew Jasper was notified that he was missing and asked to contact me/my family if they found him or saw him.

Eventually we were losing hope but Jake & I decided to check the shelter one more time and there he was, sitting in a cage in the very back of the shelter - the rooms where regular visitors don't get to go under normal circumstances. Even though we had come there multiple times, given them his description & all our info. nobody had bothered to contact us and he was THREE DAYS AWAY FROM BEING EUTHANIZED.

I still believe that he caught something from another one of the cats and they just didn't want to tell us, because there was no other reason why he wouldn't have been able to be adopted out. They said they did a thorough exam on him and he had no heart problems, yet when we had to rush him to the emergency vet and ultimately had to have him put down, he had a freaking horrible heart murmur and he had fluid around his heart and in his lungs. The shelter also said that they found absolutely no health problems aside from him being a bit underweight, but considering the fact that somebody STOLE HIM AND KEPT HIM FOR PROBABLY AROUND 2 WEEKS BEFORE TOSSING MY POOR BABY OUT OF A CAR... uhhh yeah, I'm guessing the sick fucks didn't take very good care of my cat.

Sorry guys, i still have a lot of issues with this. The people at the shelter, not the volunteers - of course the people who aren't getting paid for their time are the nice, helpful ones! - but the employees, they were so nasty and ignorant. Despite the fact that we had been coming in repeatedly searching for our cat, they acted like we were the ones who had done something wrong. They basically accused us of being neglectful and possibly even abusive X___X.

ME?? Abusing an animal??? Are you fucking kidding me?! I treat my babies like kings, practically as if they were my own children!! I cuddle them constantly and make sure they KNOW how loved they are. I spoil them rotten - toys, cat treats, soft blankets that i know they will like to knead their claws on, etc. I make sure they are brushed and combed frequently so they never have to worry about knotted fur, i sit and hold their brush/comb out for them so they can "use it" themselves as well as play with it. If i didn't work 9 1/2 hour days & get out to do stuff that i enjoy... I'd say I was pretty much a crazy cat lady in training O_o

The idea that i would EVER, in ANY WAY harm an innocent creature? It's disgusting,
