Yes. As the saying from one of our students goes, "It usually takes a year to finish a whole textbook in a Canadian community school, but only five months in my tutor's class on eChineseLearning." We may admit that the traditional way of Chinese language instruction is insufficient. It cannot offer our special continuous learning experience on daily basis so that you may take lessons in a traditional Chinese school at this weekend and forget what you learned in the next. Besides, it is not practical to start a Chinese school to cater to a small group. However, an Internet-based system can do it, and even develop the one-on-one teaching model. Our one-on-one interaction makes sure that each student can have individualized attention and each teacher can provide individualized instruction. It further enables the students to schedule lessons to fit their own time, choose course content to satisfy their own needs, and practice a lot with our native speakers.
6. Well, it sounds really good teaching style, and the teachers here have played a rather important role. So, I want to ask what are the requirements for your teaching staff or what do you look for a good Chinese teacher?
eChineseLearning is very strict with the teachers' qualification and has set up its standardized training system. Although the teachers have graduated from the world-famous first-tier language institutes such as Stanford University, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Beijing Language and Culture University, and have received professional and systematic training in "teaching Chinese as a foreign language" then, they all have to further take our one-month training courses. We can tell you that the intern training qualification weighs 50%. We also emphasize some other makings to be a fine teacher. Besides the professional competence, they also have to be helpful, enthusiastic, optimistic and patient. I think such a teaching team with all staff working together may create the best possible product and the most efficient and effective instruction.
7. What are the responses from your students?
We have received many positive feedbacks from our customers ranged from kids to corporations, saying that eChineseLearning is easy to use, provides convenience or opportunities of learning Chinese after full-day' s work and so on. There exists something interesting that most new students felt pleasantly surprised on their first lessons. Because they had thought that it wouldn't be an intimate experience to learn with a god-knows-where teacher and soon found that they had been wrong. They can speak to their teachers face to face and build good relationships through the video messenger. Actually, the teachers and the students not only communicate in class, but also interact after class. It's common that our teachers and students become friends with each other.
