it's much cheaper than it used to be. Now there are grants as well :) although a friend of mine home-made a solar water heater heeh cost him about €50 i think

seriously ppl keep saying its too expensive but its really not. & it pays for itself quick enough.

We have wind farms in NZ, but they haven't been commercialised yet... I only know one place that has solar panels for sale and they are around 500-1000 NZD, which is a lot of money, when you live in a country that is constantly making things more expensive, yet not making any effort to raise the minimum wage... I really can't afford to get a solar panel and I have no house to attach it to... I really can't see my mum allowing me to attach one to her house, which I wouldn't anyway, because then I wouldn't be able to use it... one day, when I do get a house, I will build it so that I can utilise solar energy and wind energy.

@Quinzark. Dude, quit trying to make it out like people are just being cop-outs... not everyone is like that... you need to realise that everyone has different circumstances... most of the people on Fanpop are under the age of 20 and they clearly are not going to be in a position where these things are going to be useful to them, nor will they be able to afford them.
