Bieber’s 29-year-old manager, Scott “Scooter” Braun, and record label Island Def ジャム vice president, James Roppo, 45, were originally scheduled to appear 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, but the conference will instead be rescheduled for a later date.

The case stemmed from a November 2009 near-riot at Roosevelt Field Mall when police 発言しました they told Roppo to tell Bieber’s ファン via the social network website Twitter that the meet-and-greet was called off. An 時 later, Roppo failed to send the message, prosecutors said.

While police were trying to キャンセル the event, Bieber 投稿されました a message on Twitter saying: “On my way to Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY to sign and meet fans! I’m pumped. See u there.”

Police canceled the event themselves after the もっと見る than 3,000 ファン that showed up grew rowdy and a frenzy ensued. Five people were sent to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Roppo was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, endangering the health of others and other misdemeanor charges.

After an investigation, Braun was arrested in March on charges of reckless endangerment, criminal nuisance and endangering the health of others. He is alleged to have sent out the cancellation messages もっと見る than an 時 after police called him and asked him to do so.

Both men had been released without bail following earlier court appearances.

Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen ご飯, 米 issued a statement at the time saying: “Mr. Braun put his own selfish desire for publicity above public safety and endangered the very ファン who came to see his client, as well as innocent bystanders who were at the mall that day.”

Bieber, who reportedly never made it inside the mall that day, released a statement shortly after his manager’s arrest stating that he was “100 percent” behind him.

“He is someone of high moral character and principle,” Bieber 発言しました at the time. “The decisions he made that 日 were to protect the safety of myself and my ファン and I am very thankful to have someone in my life who watches over me the way Scooter does.”
