Scuddy2010 I thought Candice Bergan was in more than 2 episodes though. I thought I heard or read she'd be in several.

Delia_Beatrice I fully agree with HuddyJoy. I don't even know how people got so worked up over this - because they say it's "the most devastating"? That is classical promo style, it must not be taken literally. And also, yes, it will be a tough and very dramatic and emotional episode - but with no Huddy breakup or whatever in it. Lisa did say they are still together in episode 15. Also, i would guess Arlene does die - otherwise, it would be a very risky storyline - having her back after just one ep since we met her, in order for House to magically save her life is on the verge of cheesy/phony/artificial, and i bet they have a very dramatic and surprising and serious script up their sleeves.

Mafz Arlene won't die and they won't break up but it's not gonna be House who saves her either, that's my bet.

takeitorleaveit i honestly can't wait to watch this episode, i know i know it's always like that for every new House ep, but the promo for this is just so beyond emotional and dramatic, already makes me want to cry, i'm really hoping that we get to see house comfort cuddy .. it's been a long while since that has happened i also think arlene will die based on the theory why cuddy's sister would be coming, but who knows it's house, anything can happen. i'm just so extremely excited for this! i was really hoping it would be next week, but seeing how heart wrenching it is already just from the promo, 2 weeks.... should be ok -- For the past few eps, huddy seems to be going well, too well i'd say... almost couldn't think of any other reason or stumbling block for the relationship, so glad something insane is coming up, i don't mean to be emo like that for huddy, but i like the angsty-ness that comes along, i know they'll persevere because that is just our huddy, overcoming all obstacle, taking us for a ride, can't wait!!

tammyr50 It is possible the sister is coming in for Mama Cuddy to rehab or test to see if they can give something while Cuddy's mom is waiting on a transplant list. We saw Cuddy in that cap that looked like maybe some surgery for her. Either the sister will need something or they test them to see if they have same anything genetically wrong with their heart. If Cuddy is in danger because of something she is doing to help the mom or being tested to see if she has any heart problems it could definitely weigh on our Dr. House. Could push him to limits. It also could of course be that Mama Cuddy does pass and the sister is coming in for a funeral. The episode in two weeks definitely looked like they were thinking of taking a heart from another transplant patient and Cuddy backed out at the last moment which will definitely weigh on her either way. So excited!!!

huddycallianfan OMG! I REALLY almost cried when I saw the promo! What would happen to me when I see the whole episode?! OMG!!! What can I say.. I do think Huddy won't break up. But I don't even know what to think! House is unpredictable. Arlene can either live or die. In such things this show is U-N-P-R-E-D-I-C-T-A-B-L-E! What else?! Well, House and Cuddy DEFINITELY WON'T BREAK UP! I'm sure in 100%!!! But Arlene might die as well as she can live. GOD, I'm repeating what I just wrote. That means I CAN'T WAIT!!! Oh, and WHAT THE HELL??? Another 2 weeks??? Why??? Who knows WHY??? I'm so excited and GOD! IDK even what I would do these 2 weeks! All I will think about is the next episode, neither the studies nor my friends! xD Anyways, HUDDY WON'T break up! I pretty sure in this.

Scuddy2010 The theory that House tries to take someone else's heart but Cuddy finds out and stops it sounds plausible. It would make sense for her sister to visit regardless of whether she dies or not. Just having your mother be that sick would warrant a visit. I have no idea if she'll live or die. Probably.

HuddyJoy0524 Yeah i think @tammys theory sounds plausible. im gonna go with A) She dies B) She's so close and ends up needing a transplant C) She's close and ends up needing care But I don't see them having Candice guest star all season. My guess is she dies too. It'll be intense but then again...thats House for you! And i wouldn't worry about Huddy breaking up guys i don't think that will happen. things may get tense but from the promos House will be sacrificing everything to save her if anything Cuddy will be grateful at how hard he tried.

huddysmyvicodin Promo's are designed to gain ratings. Yes it's probably going to be dramatic, but House is a drama for a reason. The way I see it is, Cuddy's mom is most likely going to live. If she dies, then what was the point of introducing her to begin with? But, I believe House being House is going to do something against Cuddy's wishes, but with her best interest at heart. They are probably going to be at each other's throats because of the stress, but i don't think they would break up just like that. They have only back together for two episodes. The makers of House are smart enough to know that an on and off relationship is conducive to a successful show. But who knows, we just have to tune in for new episodes!

hughlisafan I don't know my take is a little different than what other people on here are thinking. I think it's Cuddy who does something really rash and House not only covers for her but takes the blame. House is sacrificial, especially when it comes to medicine and/or the people he loves. People also naturally blame him for things that he has next to no involvement in anyway. Say people blame him for whatever happens even though it's Cuddy's fault. House has even advised her against whatever it is she is planning. Cuddy fails, but House gets blamed and instead of fighting that he does what he ALWAYS does with conflict - nothing. He just accepts it and then avoids it. This is the only explanation I can come up with for House shouting at Masters and saying how "he'll destroy her career if she talks" during the promo vid. That scene is sooooooo out-of-character for House. I was shocked at that scene more than any other. House is not a fighter - at least for himself. He never acts to protect himself in situations like these. He's too self-destructive for that. He avoids. He stays hidden. No, he's protecting someone else. House acted when Chase was in trouble (his dad arriving, the lawsuit that Chase brought on himself when his dad died, staying loyal to Chase when he killed the dictator, letting him get himself together after his divorce. House has always given Chase a place to land). His fear when Foreman was ill in S2. His anger when Foreman left at the end of S3 (note he was not angry when Cameron left at the end of S3). How much he got involved when Foreman switched the drugs on 13 in her Huntington's drug trial. House pleading with Foreman not to throw his career away. I can go on and on with Kutner, 13 and even Taub. But House fighting for himself? Nope. In that scene with Masters, House is panicking. I've never seen him like that. House loves control and in that scene he is completely out of control. I don't think he's panicking over himself. I think he is desperately trying to protect someone he loves. Cuddy. Even if Cuddy steps forward to say she's to blame who's going to believe her? She's sleeping with House AND she always protects him. ALWAYS. No one is going to believe her because of her long relationship to House, and the fact he has the reputation of being medically aggressive, radical and ethically limited anyway. I can see Cuddy's guilt eventually destroying their relationship.

They want viewers to tune in and hopefully pick up some more along the way. But it sometimes doesn't work. and can backfire. Remember Lone Star? FOX promoted the HELL out of that show, especially when House was on (BARF) and it still got cancelled after airing only two episodes. However, I like this promo a lot. I can't wait to see what happens. I've been reading everyone's theories regarding why Cuddy's mom, Arlene, is admitted into the hospital and possibly dying. I, too, believe that Mama Cuddy needs an organ transplant of some sort. But, I think BOTH House and Cuddy will try everything to save her life including lying, concealing and falsifying records for an organ initially intended for another patient higher on the transplant list than Arlene. I think even Cuddy is the master behind this plan. Cuddy had broken rules and the law in the past when the situation involved people she cared about. (i.e. House) She perjured herself and falsified pharmacy records when House risked losing his medical license and jail time because of Tritter. How far would she go to save her own mother?

tammyr50 @hughlisafan - Could be that Cuddy Is the perpetrator. Could be House meant she had killed someone else. Wow. Either way I don't know if Cuddy can stand under the burden. House will have to be "her" strength and in the end he may prove to be her 'Knight in Shining Armor"

I bet you Cuddy would do anything to save her mother and she IS the dean of medicine so she could approve any treatment or surgery House throws at her. House looked absolutely terrified when he was yelling at Foreman, "She's dying!". But what was with the end of the promo, "you killed her"?

hughlisafan @Scuddy2010 Yup. House has threatened to fire people before but not like this. He's not rational. He's out of control. I really think, as HuliHookup wrote, that it is Cuddy that is the main perpetrator here and House, being House, has knowledge of whatever it is she's doing, and he is in full scale panic/protection mode.

hughlisafan @tammyr I think House may end up being her Knight in Shining Armour, but he also may end up being nailed to the cross, if you know what I mean, dying for her sins and all that (I don't mean a physical death here). At least, I hope this is the path they take if they are going to break up my favorite couple. House as a Christ figure for Cuddy would be rather epic, and romantic, and incredibly sad. And, I don't think it would be out-of-character for him. All just speculation of course, I have no more knowledge than what I watched in the promo and my years of watching House and the kind of character he is. I could be spectacularly wrong, but my gut feeling is that this is Cuddy's doing and House is caught up in it. @huddysmyvicodin Cuddy is in the position of approving anything that House wants or demands. It is also entirely possible that Cuddy herself steps in and either over rides House or another doctor. She's done it before. Hell, she did it in the very first episode! lol But, she's done it many times since. As Scuddy2010 pointed out, Cuddy is also not above doing illegal things for people she loves as well. Her and House make quite the pair actually. lol And, how many times did she step up for House: Vogler, Tritter, hiding his drug addiction all through S2 and S3, sticking with him through the death of Amber (to the point that she almost alienated Wilson), giving him medical freedom even at the expense of her job (remember in S4's Living The Dream when she tells House to let her know when she should pack her bags), sticking with him through Kutner's death (and you know there are people in the hospital who probably blame House for riding Kutner too hard), closing down his office when he went into rehab/therapy but also keeping that job open for him when he got better. House owes her big time, and he knows it too. I guess we'll find out to what ends he will go to protect her.
