It was クリスマス night and House was flipping through his テレビ trying to find something to watch.
"Damn, all クリスマス movies," he 発言しました as he turned off his tv in disgust. The last thing he needed was another reminder that he was alone during this time of family, peace, and happiness. Deciding to calll it an early night, he headed towards his bedroom when he heard the phone ring.
"This better be an emergency," House answered the phone.
"Hi, Greg, it's me," 発言しました the voice on the other end of the line.
"Hi, mom. Merry Christmas," he managed to say through his surprise. His mother hasn't called him on クリスマス for years.
"Merry Christmas, son. Don't hang up yet," she 発言しました as House was about to hang up the phone.
"What else is there to talk about?" he asked.
"Well, as あなた know, this is my first クリスマス without your father," Blythe House said.
"I know," House 発言しました feeling rather uncomfortable.
"I figured now was as good a time as any to tell あなた the truth, because if あなた can't say it on Christmas, then when can あなた say it, right?" she 発言しました hesistantly.
"What are あなた talking about, mom?" asked House.
"Your real father is not John House. He's actually-"
"Mike Collins," House cut off his mother.
"How did あなた know?"
"I figured it out when I was twelve. Dad, または should I say stepdad, was deployed to
Okinawa at the time I was supposed to have been conceived; his 秒 toe is bigger than his big toe and mine isn't; lastly, I have a birthmark on my scalp that matches Mike's birthmark.
"I guess I should explain," 発言しました Blythe.
"There's no need for that. I understand. あなた hated him so あなた cheated on him," 発言しました House. Blythe chuckled at this.
"No, that's not how it was like at all. あなた see, I met Mike at a military ball, the same place I met John. They were best friends. Mike looked so handsome in his uniform and the way he smiled at me, it just melted my heart. I guess あなた could say it was 愛 at first sight," Blythe said.
"Mom, I'm really not in the mood for story time," 発言しました House annoyed.
"Would あなた just listen for once?" his mother shot back at him.
"Fine," House 発言しました exasperated.
"Unfortunately, Mike was very shy. He didn't dance with anyone the entire night. John ended up asking me out even though I wished it was Mike instead, but あなた can't always get what あなた want. One thing led to another and John and I ended up getting married, but through it all, Mike and I still kept in touch; he was John's best friend after all. Then one day, I got a call from the Army. They 発言しました that the fighter jet John was on crashed. They couldn't find his body, but they did find his dog タグ in the midst of the wreckage. I was devastated. I thought John was dead so I turned to Mike for comfort. We spent a lof of time together during the weeks that John was missing. Then one night, he professed his 愛 for me. That was the night あなた were conceived. によって the time I found out I was pregnant, John had been redeployed to Germany and Mike was deployed to I don't know where. It wasn't until a few years later when John and I moved back to Kentucky that I saw Mike again. He was happliy married. That's when it hit me. I couldn't tell anyone that あなた were his child because I'd be breaking not one, but two families. It was easier to let John think that あなた were his son who was born one 月 prematurely," Blythe finally finished.
House was speechless. The sordid 愛 story his mother just told him was not what he was expecting.
"Greg, are あなた still there?" Blythe finally broke the silence.
"Yeah, I'm still here," House answered.
"Good. If あなた learned anything from this story, Greg, learn this: don't wait to tell someone あなた 愛 that あなた 愛 them because then it could be too late and you'll forever live to regret it," his mother said.
"Ok, mom, bye," House said.
"Bye, son," his mom answered.
House sat on his ソファー, ソファ and thought about what his mother just told him for a few moments. Then, as if possessed, he got up, grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from his desk. He scribbled down a note, which he folded and tucked into the inner pocker of his jacket. He then got his keys and cane before heading out the door.
Fifteen 分 later House arrived at Cuddy's house. He felt a chill run down his back as he remembered what happened the last time he went to Cuddy's house.
"No, this time I'm going to ring her doorbell," he told himself. He stood in front of the doorway for a 秒 and then rang the doorbell.
Inside the house, Cuddy had just finished tucking in her baby girl again (she was quite a crier) when she heard the doorbell ring. She answered the door and was surprised to find no one there.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid," House mentally chastised himself. "Never again," he told himself, "never again."
"Damn lousy teenage pranksters," Cuddy muttered to herself. She was about to close the door when she noticed a slip of paper underneath a rock, which was presumably there to keep the note from blowing away. She unfolded the piece of paper and couldn't believe her eyes. The message on the paper read:
Because it's Christmas, I just thought あなた should know that I 愛 you.
-Greg House
Cuddy quickly put on a pair of shoes and ran out the door. She managed to catch up to House, who was still limping towards his car.
"House," she called out to him and he turned around to face her. She then pulled him into a kiss.
"Because it's Christmas, I just thought あなた should know that I 愛 あなた too," she 発言しました smiling at him.
*A/N: I tried to stay as true to the characters as possible and make sure the facts that we've been 与えられた on 前 episodes match up with what presented. That being said, I did have to take some liberties to stray from the 表示する a little in order to make this fanfic work, but hopefully not too much. If あなた felt, I've made some factual errors please let me know. Also, please rate and review as this is my first attempt at a Huddy fanfic, thanks.
