They're much more creepy. Like the guys who kill just for the fun of it! That's intense to watch. lol Though I think the motive of Billy & Stu in the first Scream is the best motive in the history of horror movie motives. It was hard to pick.

I am not a fan at all of the movies where there is just some person doing horrible things because they can. There is enough of that in the real world, thank you very much. Movies like Vacancy, The Stangers, Last House on the Left, and even Clockwork Orange don't have any appeal to me. I watch them to see if my tastes have changed, but alas they have not. I watch them and think about what else I could have been doing during those lost minutes. Even the latest movie Prom Night was a disappointment and a bore to me. I like it when the killers have a reason. I love it when they do the back story on the killer and we find out why the are the way they are. While the New Halloween many didn't like, I loved that it showed where Mike came from.

It's kind of scary to think that someone would kill another simply because they think it's fun or a voice in there head told them to. I did like Stu's motive of "peer presure".

Something about a 'robotic killing machine' just dosen't inspire fear in my opinion.

I feel that the wackos WITHOUT a motive make for a more suspenseful (scarier) experience in horror movie viewing. If they have no real motive then they're just plain psycho and anything (or anyone) goes.
Now, that's not to say that if you believe you do have a motive, you should go around stabbing folk to smithereens,lol!

Me too I like crazy ones. But I do like motives if it is something twisted and shocking. Like Scream. That was a interesting motive. Saw killed people because they don't appreciate life. That is a good one and so on and so forth. But I do enjoy the nuthead Norman Bates kinda characters. They interest me.

i like them both, it depends wat im in the mood for, as some are better than others while others are just crap
